5 out of 5 eggsGreat Simple Product

Pros: Simple, Reliable, Supports Complex (Programmable) Mice and Keyboards.

Cons: No Customization or hotkey support

Other Thoughts: Great product. Because of the physical button it does not try and detect when it "Thinks" you want to switch to the other computer, so it will not auto-switch when activating mouse/keyboard lock on a Virtual Machine or Remote Session. I have gone through a half dozen KVMs and this is the only one that works flawlessly while working with Virtual machines. If you want a keyboard shortcut to switch machines, this is not for you. This is for people that want a reliable KVM that does what you tell it to do when you tell it to. The cable on the switch remote is much longer that the integrated KVM cables, so it does not hamper use.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor choice

Pros: none - DOA, it died immediately on trying out.

Cons: It only has cons since it died. otherwise could be fine, hardware switch is very useful bonus when using non PC sources or Linux.

Other Thoughts: not sure if I can get this replaced as I have only tested this after three months of it gathering electron dust. regret purchasing.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

DOA is not acceptable. This product does have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty for a new replacement.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks for the Most Part

Pros: It does exactly what I bought it for. I now have two computers and only need one monitor.

Cons: When I switch computers it will sometimes cause my resolution to change and shift all of my icons around. This is an easy fix, but it is still annoying to have to re size my Monitor all the time.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

It may occur like that for Analog if the Video/Graphic drivers are not updated. Check with the computer/ Graphic card manufacturer for updated drivers to see if it resolves the issue.

As you know we are more than happy to provide our customers with a hassle free exchange when a product is defective.

3 out of 5 eggsHot Key and Auto Scan does not work

Pros: Cable length is sufficient, switching is quick, no issues with adjusting resolution when switching

Cons: Hotkeys and auto scan does not work.

Other Thoughts: Good price for an otherwise solid device.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks out of the box as advertised

Pros: This was easy to connect, easy to set up. The unit is buried behind my computers with all the other wiring and the remote switch is small and sits right behind my keyboard under my monitor. I have one computer and my server console sharing the keyboard, monitor and mouse.

Cons: None yet

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: Neat, compact, very good quality.

This KVM switch does exactly what it is supposed to do.
It is self powered and while there are no key stroke commands that I have found, the remote button switch can be placed at some distance from the main unit provided by the attached cord. There is a 1 to 2 second delay in switching.
I configured mine to use two wireless transmitters, one for mouse and the other for keyboard. Absolutely no issues at all, this thing just works well. It supports High Definition monitors as well although just the standard 15 pin D sub connector.

Cons: None at all, knowing any limitations, if any, by reading the specifications left no surprises.

Other Thoughts: Be sure when installing that the power to both computers is OFF, and that all equipment is properly grounded.

Some may find the tethered switch button cable an issue being an extra wire and a where to place it an issue, especially on a ultra neat work station. I placed mine atop the main PC case next to my usb dongles

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Installation is very simple, and both machines (one on Windows XP, and one on Windows 7) recognized the mouse and keyboard without needing additional software or drivers.

Cons: The cord with the remote switch gets tangled up in the other cords very easily. Not a big deal, it just added a few minutes to the install untangling everthing.

Other Thoughts: Works with a PS/2 keyboard attached with a PS/2 - USB adapter and a USB mouse.

4 out of 5 eggsHot Keys...Really?

Pros: Easy install. Switches nicely between PCs with different OS and resolutions. The short cables work fine for my set up.

Cons: Bought this based on the previous reviewer who was told that it did have hot keys (hit control twice). Does not work for me. Even tried reversing the KB and mouse thinking they might have labelled them wrong...still nothing.
Just missed 5 stars because of the Hot Key issue. Otherwise nice product.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap

Pros: Compact, 2 channel, usb switch

Cons: Cables are short, only 3'. Listed to be switchable by hotkeys, yet hotkeys aren't documented anywhere, and the ones listed for other switches don't work. Apparently doesn't not work with USB extension cables; when attaching a 3' extension to get to 6', mouse lags out until it quits working entirely.

Other Thoughts: gonna see if support has any ideas, otherwise look for a better quality switch.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for purchasing our SYBA products. We are sorry to hear that the product has stopped functioning as it should be. The hotkeys to switch it, it is to press the ctrl key twice. For the USB extension problem, it could be a power failure. I would like to point out that we can also issue RMA returns. We always try to provide the most reliable products to our customers and all products come with at least 1-year warranty. So please don't hesitate to contact us at support@sybausa.com for replacement or question.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Great switching at high speeds. No issues with random hardware.

Cons: Clicker sticks. The reason I went with Syba over the other choices, was the name. I have enjoyed success on most other items. This works but the button tends to stick.

Other Thoughts: The reason I went with Syba over the other choices, was the name. I have enjoyed success on most other items. This works but the button tends to stick.

Manufacturer Response:
