4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great, Exactly as advertised

Pros: -is what it is, never had problems with the usb 3s, havnt had a reason to use the usb 2 yet,

Cons: -the adapter for a 5.25 inch bay has nothing that keep the unit in place so when you take a flash drive out you just need to make sure you dont rip the whole thing out
-

Other Thoughts: -over all cant complain for a usb+card reader for under 30 bucks

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Works well, looks good, does what it's supposed to.

Cons: Installation was a bit of a pain, but nothing insurmountable.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it wasn't obvious which card reader / USB 3.0 hub to get. Each seemed to have pros and cons. Other than a somewhat clunky install, though, I haven't regretted this at all.

Fast, simple look, easy setup. As the other reviewer said, I've seen no issues with slow start-up or anything like that either.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: Long USB cable 3.0 (about 20 inches), USB 3.0 with SD Card reader, easy to install, no drivers needed

Cons: USB are tight, but works

Other Thoughts: I own this product for 3 weeks now. Some people saying that the USB 3.0 cable is too short, but now they changed the lengh I guess, I have a 20 inch USB 3.0 cable that came with!! There is a review saying that slows down the starting. I have an SSD drive and my computer starts in 15 seconds as before, this item didn't slow down my computer. I have the ASUS P8Z68-V Pro motherboard and there is drivers for USB 3.0 since 2011. Some people saying that the cable is too wide to fit in the hole, but I don't use the metal cover inside the case. I installed it with a 5.25" bracket and took me max. 5 minutes. Works great!! Very great item for the price!!

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: Works, USB 3.0, has cable for USB-A or USB3 header.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Other people have reviewed this as not so reliable, that has not been my experience. Its been running without a hitch for 6 weeks now, it is nice to have USB 3.0 on the front of my older style case.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks, but questionable design

Pros: It works. The USB 3.0 ports transfer data as quickly as my native on-board ports and the 2.0 port and card reader also perform as expected.

Cons: Installing the drive into the 5.25" bracket was much more tedious than needed and you can't keep the cover on the reader thanks to the cables being too wide to fit through the gap, which makes me wonder why they bothered having it in the first place.

My main issue is this device has caused my boot-times to increase dramatically. I have a OCZ Vertex 3 SSD as a boot and without this device boot-time was around 20 seconds. Now it can be as long as two minutes. There are no drivers supplied by Syba and there's no firmware update available for my motherboard for the USB 3.0 header (ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe) so I'm a bit at a loss as to how to resolve this. Once the machine finishes booting everything works flawlessly, but the issue is highly annoying and there doesn't seem to be an obvious solution other than unplugging it.

For the somewhat questionable design and lack of support from Syba I'm deducting one "egg."

5 out of 5 eggsNo frills

Pros: Bought this to add some USB 3.0 ports and an SD reader to the front of my cooler master 430 case. It was a nice way to occupy one of the 3.5 bays and end up with a 5.25 to 3.5 bracket if needed later. Had a 3.0 header cable and a usb cable to route around back if necessary. Plugged it in and went to town. Windows 7 recognized it right away. Also, didn't add an extra drive to my list. No lights stay on, just a green led when SD card is in place.

Cons: Could have been a little cheaper, but then, couldn't everything?

4 out of 5 eggsNice piece of kit

Pros: Works as advertised. Materials seem to be fairly good. All ports and card reader work flawlessly. For 2 more usb 3.0 front ports plus a usb 2 and a card reader for less than 30 bucks you really can't go wrong

Cons: I took an egg off because it took half an hour to get the 3.5 inch hub to fit into the 5.25 inch front panel adapter that came with it. A magnetic screw driver is a must if you are going to use the 5.25 inch adapter. One of the holes in the hub unit wasn't drilled out enough to allow the screws that came with it seat firmly without putting a lot of muscle into it. A complete pain, but not a deal breaker.

This is nice piece, but the cables that it comes with are a little short. The internal header cable is just long enough to reach the usb 3 header on my mobo and the Lancool is shorter mid-tower case. If your planning on using this is in a full tower case you probably are gonna want to get a measurement on the internal cable.

The standard usb 3 cable that it comes with is stupid short. If you plan to use this cable to connect to one of your backplane usb 3 connectors there is no way it is going to reach. Period. The cable is all of about maybe 8 inches long.

Other Thoughts: Once it was all together and installed in my case (a Lancool K-57 Paladin) it looks like it belongs there and adds a lot of functionality for less than 30 dollars. It saves me the trouble of having to purchase a new case. The Lancool case is a really nice piece and it has some life left in it so adding an accessory panel like this made a lot of sense.
