4 out of 5 eggsnot bad

Pros: Mostly just works. I've probably switched screens with Scroll-Lock Scroll-Lock sequence at least 5000 times. The switch over time is about 3 - 4 seconds on average. I do tap the Ctrl key numerous times to help it along.

Cons: I'm having some trouble today with one of my ThinkPads not passing the video though, but problems have been rare.

Other Thoughts: This has basically worked for over a year. I've used a variety of W5xx series ThinkPads with my HDMI monitor. I use Displayport converters at the ThinkPad ends. The monitor connection is HDMI and has been running at 1080p.

1 out of 5 eggsUSB Did Not Recognize

Pros: HDMI switching worked between Windows 7 laptop and a MacBook Air.

Cons: USB was not recognized for mouse and keyboard by either a Windows 7 laptop or a MacBook Air.

Other Thoughts: Would not purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsNot that great

Pros: It mostly works.
Cheap
Can demux the sound through my Dell monitor to my external speakers

Cons: Cheap build, big seams in the plastic.
Cable layout is poor. The <scrl><lock> combo works to switch from windows to linux in my setup, but not the other way around. The cables connecting monitor/keyboar/mouse are on the front, The cables connecting the computers is on the back. The buttons are on the sides. There is no good way to place this device on your desk without cables sticking out everywhere. This wouldn't be a big deal if you could use the hot-keys to switch from linux to windows.
As others have said, the screws holding the provided cable don't fit.
Have switched between computers and the display resolution switched to 1024x768 for some reason.

Other Thoughts: I replaced a VGA KVM with this one. I was able to hot-key between both of my computers easily with that, so it was tucked out the way behind my monitor.. The display and sound are fine.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsBad Item

Pros: Great idea and good resolution

Cons: Only could get one of the 2 computers to output video through this. Switched cables on the computers and then the other one would work so this is no good

3 out of 5 eggsWorks Well, But Plug Screws Can't be Connected

Pros: Works well. Can be used ask switchable USB hub.

Cons: The plug screws are long, but most of the length is wasted on the part above the plug. They are permanently attached to the plug, but the part that protrudes from the bottom is too short. When trying to attach it to the body of the KVM, the screws cannot catch the threads, because their short w the plug.
The two redeeming qualities, are that device functions extremely well otherwise and the plug sits snuggly in the body of the KVM, so that the unfastened plug screws are almost unnecessary.
Either the screws were not measured to specification on not designed properly. The device should be inspected for quality, before being shipped to customers!

4 out of 5 eggsGood value for money

Pros: It allows me to easily switch my Keyboard, mouse and Screen between my PC and my Mac.

Cons: If anything, I would like the device (PC laptop or Mac) which is not connected to the KVM screen to be totally disconnected from the screen. My Laptop PC as well as my Mac stays in multi-screen mode if I don't manually switch it to single-screen mode before swapping.
