5 out of 5 eggsNice little unit

Pros: Impressive little unit. Simple, self-contained, and intuitive--don't really need the manual as ports and cables are labelled with mouse and keyboard symbols. I run 1680 * 1050 and it is crystal clear, no banding or artifact at all. Ports are pass-through; my mouse is a Logitech MX1100 and all features work on both systems: a very nice feature!

Cons: The only potential drawback I see so far is that the cable that connects the switch is really very thin and looks like it could be easily broken.

Other Thoughts: If you have a BIOS password set for booting, as I do, you'll need to enter it with the keyboard hooked directly to the computer, and then hook it to the KVM. After you've gone through one complete bootup and it installs drivers, you won't have to do this again.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I thought it would be...

Pros: Easy to hook up, separate button to change computers instead of hotkey, USB instead of PS2 ports, Price (around $20)

Cons: Short wires but worked for me, can't use PS3 mouse without adapter (most, if not all, mice/keyboards are USB these days) about 3-4 second delay from my laptop to desktop but tolerable. Only attached button changer to change keyboard/mouse (other products have both),

Other Thoughts: Just what I was looking for in the price range I was willing to spend. Works right out of the box and set up in 5 minutes. Keyboard and mouse plugins are USB so it doesn't matter what USB ports you plug them into on your computer. Delays when switching computers is tolerable. around 3-5 seconds to switch keyboard and mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Absolutely love it! I use my monitor to switch the video so I was worried that it wouldn't work without a video signal, as some do, but it works like a charm. There is a single button for switching between the two available inputs which is on a really long cable connecting to the actual device. No need to have the actual unit on your desk unless you want it which is a big plus for me. Horizontal Surface Syndrome is a big issue for me.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsBasic KVM

Pros: Simple to install
Worked instantly
Can't get this wrong

Due to a lack of additional monitors my wife talked me into getting this, since it was inexpensive, so i can manage our home server. I wasn't too excited about the button on a very thin cord, but i haven't had any problems with this device. Cable length is just fine in my opinion as i had my PC next to our server. The length on the remote cord is long enough to reach around and under my desk to where i wanted it mounted. Great little KVM for basic needs

Cons: The noob vision lights that tell you which box your on are annoying, but i am not really one for electronics have as many lights as possible.

5 out of 5 eggsKVM

Pros: It took 2 minutes to install everything. Instead of keyboard commands and simple button on a 4' cord swaps machines. It has indicator lights for those who can't tell on machine from the other ( which would bring up a lot of questions, but that's a different review). This thing simply gets the job done and is now helping me keep my desk space open by only needing one mouse and keyboard.

Cons: Doesn't read my brain waves to know if i want to be on my PC or Server.
Doesn't make coffee

Other Thoughts: Really this thing is exactly what it is supposed to be, plain and simple. This is definitely a recommended product.

And as ALWAYS...

4 out of 5 eggsworks great with wireless keyboard/mouse combo

Pros: Easy switching via a manual remote button. I'm using this at work to control two computers with a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 combo. I plugged in the single receiver into the keyboard port and both computers recognized it right away.

Cons: The cable length is a bit shorter than the IOGear MiniView™ Micro USB PLUS KVM Switch GCS632U I was replacing. I would say about 4 ft. as opposed to the 6 ft. on the IOGear. No hotkey to switch between computers but the long cable on the remote allows for easy placement wherever you need it.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this product to anyone using this with a wireless desktop combo. The USB ports seem to act as a pass through rather than a keyboard/mouse emulator as found on the IOGear GCS632U. Can't beat the price on this as well.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Simple operation, remote switch, ease of use and indication

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I don't use this for video so I can't speak to that, but as a cheap solution to switch a keyboard and mouse between two computers, I highly recommend it.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not Great

Pros: Works excellent as a KVM. Hookup was as straightforward as you would expect...press the button, it switches to the other system. Press it again, and you're back. The lag to regain connection into Vista is 3-5 seconds, about standard for any KVM I've ever touched. Passes keyboard media keys and extra mouse buttons (back forward DPI etc) without any problem.

Cons: 1680x1050 is painful on the eyes after a while. There is just the slightest bit of a horizontal blur moving bottom to top over and over on the screen..it gets very distracting and induced a headache in about 5-10 minutes for me. Its almost like a bad refresh rate, but none of the settings on my monitor make it go away.

I reduced to 1440x900 resolution and its been great...I would be wary of purchasing this switch for very high resolutions... Kind of defeats its own purpose when I have to hook the DVI cable back up to gain decent viewing.

Other Thoughts: If you user lower resolutions or it wont be attached to either of your main workstations it is not a problem...but if you were hoping to only occasionally use the switch and generally stay on one system and monitor, you'll be in fine shape.

If you got this for the same reason I did (hook up a PC for repair on the side, bounce between them as needed...) its probably not for you.

That small (big?) issue aside, its a great product...
