1 out of 5 eggsWho needs 7 mice?

Pros: I guess it would work if you just needed to power 7 keyboards or mice?

Cons: It only works with the upstream to 2 of 12 USB ports on my PC - one reason I was looking for a hub with its own power supply is so I could use it in my unpowered ports. It also only provides like 10mA power even with just one device, so it's useless for anything that needs even the standard USB 500mA.

Finally, the major reason I went with this instead of the many cheaper 7-port hubs was because it was supposed to use a true 7-port NEC controller chip internally; but apparently CyberPower decided to change out the internals with two chained 4-port Genesys Logic garbage controllers, so 4 of the ports are of limited use due to USB's 5-hub chain limit.

Other Thoughts: Why does it seem to be so hard to find a REAL 7-port USB hub? I wish USB hub manufs would list details like this, or at the very least change the model number when they completely replace the device internals.

FWIW, the USB id of the two controllers in this is 05e3:0608

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Hub

Pros: Takes up much less desk space than the other USB hubs I've used. Using for a webcam, desktop mic, SD/CF card reader, Android phone for development, Android tablet for development, and 1-2 flash drives. Speed is stellar compared to other hubs I've used, even with all those data devices.

Cons: Blue light may be bright for some; I don't mind it. I initially thought the seven green LED lights on front might indicate which ports were either plugged in or passing data; turns out they're all just on all the time, even if no devices are plugged in. Again, not a necessarily a negative. Just something to be aware of.

Other Thoughts: Fast. Quality of build seems more solid than other USB hubs I've used.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Does what it says, was running out of USB slots on my motherboard and needed something to plug low powered devices into, this does the trick. So far it runs everything I've plugged into it fine, without windows giving me "this device could run faster ..." messages. I use it primarily for Phone/iPod charging syncing and an Xbox controller, and printer.

Cons: LED lights on the front are very bright. I had to put black electrical tape on the front because it was too bright. Even then I have it placed behind my monitor so it doesn't get annoying. The unit is heavy, along with a weighted stand but after hooking too many cords to it the box ends up falling over anyways. I would have rather the power & USB-PC hookups been on the same side with the other USB hookups on adjacent sides but it serves me well as it is.

Other Thoughts: Was more expensive than alternative units but after reading so many poor reviews about other products I decided to spend a little extra money and get something that proved good to so many ppl. I'm happy I chose this product.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat hub!

Pros: This little baby is perfect. small, reliable, lots of ports.

Cons: Light never turns off, only one port with continuous power. data transfer between plugged in items (thumb drive, portable harddrive, phone w/micro SD, etc) is slower than using computer's usb ports, but with a multi-cpu system, i am not bogged down and i can do other things.

Other Thoughts: I really like this hub. i've bought and returned about 3 before i settled on this item. others were too big, took up too much desk space, didn't have as many ports or didn't have a continuous powered port. i've got 5-7 items plugged in at any time, all exchanging info and i am happy. don't get this if the lights being on bugs you.

5 out of 5 eggsBest, Toughest USB Hub

Pros: I've obtained many of these for my clients over the years and have not seen a single failure. These have surge suppression on every port making them ideal for a many types of users such as a busy CPA firm where clients are bringing accounting and tax data in via Flash Drives which are inserted and removed often without being ejected first. Like I said not a single failure on over 30 of these, some many years old.

Cons: NOT really a con but as nice as the slightly weighted base is, I still sometimes wish it were a little heavier with a non slip pad on the bottom, possibly a magnetic insert option...

Other Thoughts: Truth is probably every computer user with an MP3 player, iPood, iTouche, iPown, digital camera, digital video and any other device that needs to be plugged & unplugged from a Mac or PC regularly really would benefit from using one of these...

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as described, but not aesthetically appealing

Pros: This usb hub works exactly as the manufacturer describes.

Cons: not really a con but...
The concern i had was how it would stay upright with so many cables plugged into it, due to it being so Very small, but seems to be no problem.
The only complaint i would have is that it is not aesthetically appealing to look at due to the cables plugging into both "sides" of the unit...a better idea/design (IMO) would have been to have the cables plug into the rear of the unit so that it wouldn't look like some kind of injured spider with all the wires sticking straight out from both sides.

Other Thoughts: i only have 5 ports used at this time (keyboard, mouse, printer, thumbdrive & webcam)...i kept the heavy load items (2 Huge external harddrives) connected to the main ports in the pc because i didn't want any possibility of the hub overloading/oveheating.
The lights/LED's (7 green and 1 BRIGHT Blue) aren't as bothersome to me as some have described, i don't even really notice them, maybe because the hub is not directly in my line of view.
All in all, was definitely worth the money.
*side note*
i usually get most if not all of my pc products at NewEgg, but i'm sorry to say that for this item, "A" had them beat hands down!

5 out of 5 eggsPowered USB Goodness

Pros: I have been using this unit for about 4 months now and it has giving me rock solid performance. This is a powered USB hub so I don't have to worry about the connection dropping off like I do with a non-powered hub. Is it more than a $5 hub, yes, but you get what you pay for.

The unit is well built and seems to take the punishment that I am giving it.

Cons: Still a little on the costly side, but not bad.

Other Thoughts: You won't regret this choice. If the unit goes bad, then warranty it. Electronics can fail, writing a negative review because you happened to get a DOA unit isn't fair as SOMEONE will get one eventually.

I'd like to hear about the warranty experience from those people; not a bunch of crying.

1 out of 5 eggsUgh!

Pros: Looks great, lights up the middle are nice.

Cons: I cannot get this USB Hub to work on any machine I own (6 of them). I've even taken it into work and tried on machines in our Test Lab.

Other Thoughts: Very disappointed in this product. I am going to request a refund for this product.
