sli / crossfire
- Pros: just a great look overall . solid , well built . came with a really cool sticker and some anti-static gloves . perfect for a system like sli or crossfire . it has both the 6 and 8 pin power connectors . so it will power 2x 2900xt no problem . or even 2x 8800 ultras .
- Cons: not 100% modular . but you will use most if not all of what is on the main cord bundle . price is a little high , but it is very high quality .
- Other Thoughts: i did my research on all companies who make the best hardware . and from what i have read , tegan / abs labs , is the #1 in power supplies . you cant go wrong with this one .
Steer Clear of Tagan - Horrible Support!
- Pros: Modular, works well when it works. Good efficiency and lots of 12V rails. LED's. Fast shipping by Newegg as usual (thanks Newegg!)
- Cons: Like many others, my PSU worked well for a few months before dying on me. It wouldn't stay powered on for more than a few seconds. I spoke with tech support who agreed that it was dead and setup an RMA for me. I "next day aired" it so that I would get the replacement back ASAP - that was over 4 weeks ago! I still have not received my replacement, and have gotten nowhere when speaking with "customer care" - I have called both numbers - 800-685-3471 and 800-876-8088 and they both keep sending me in circles. Nobody wants to take responsibility for this nightmare, and in the meantime I am stuck using a very old laptop. I have threatened them with filing a complaint w/the Better Biz Bureau as well as this (yet another) negative review on newegg and they still have not gotten in touch with me. I am at the end of my rope and would NEVER buy another Tagan product again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. If you value your sanity, stay away from Tagan products! Their support is the worst!!
- Other Thoughts: I love how they respond to these negative reviews blaming someone/something else for the problems with these PSU's - it's never their fault. I have spoken with over a dozen reps and emailed them numerous times and am still at square one. I don't know if I will ever receive a replacement. Read the other reviews here and avoid like the plague.

- Pros: Very nice PS easy install. Quiet, Love the lights!
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: I wouldn't mind paying extra to buy different length cables, I don't think they offer that, in my case some were a little short and others to long. I would get another if I needed it.
Works fine, looks nice.
- Pros: Installed it, PC fired right up. Voltages are stable on my system (PhII 940 @ 3.6+Ghz, 4870 @ 820/4600, 8GB DDR2, 2 hard drives, DVD burner, fans, lights, etc.). The power supply is nice and quiet at load... infact I can't tell if it even gets any louder from idle. I think the big 135mm fan is doing it's job well.
Also, this unit looks very nice in my opinion. Lights aren't for everyone, but if you like some lights in your case then you'll like this power supply. It's not annoyingly bright, but the lights are certainly visable.
The modular cables work great. Just slide the connector in than thread the collar. Cables are also plenty long for my mid-ATX case.
Also provided are some nice extras. The unit itself comes in it's own fabric bag. There is a fabric carrying/storage case for the modular cables that aren't in use. It has a few zipties for cable management. There is a rubber dampener for noise if you want. Screws, screwdriver, cloth glove... nice touches.
- Cons: The only real con to this unit I would have to say is that it seems to cost a bit more than similarly rated units.
- Other Thoughts: While the unit does cost a bit more, you also get a unique looking power supply, that from my limited testin performs just as it should. I would imagine 900 watts is enough to satisfy almost any 'normal' build out there. No complaints here, I'm glad I have this unit in my case.
Dud w/X58 Mobo
- Pros: Good looking unit with a ton of cable options.
- Cons: Got the same issue many are having when paired with the X58 Mobo. I didn't have a problem until day 2 and upon researching I found many have the same power on issue (lights everything up for less than a second then shuts down). I called ABS and was told it's not their PSU and to contact Tagan. Tagan's phone number is garbage and you'd have better luck winning the lottery while being struck by a meteor then receiving an email response from them.
My only fix to the issue was to RMA back to Newegg and order a different brand :( Good thing Newegg has a top notch customer service and RMA program!
