4 out of 5 eggsit works

Pros: ive had it for a couple of months now and it works fine. i dont really use it to transfer files that much although when i do it work as fast a usb port will allow. i mostly use it to format new hard drives and test them before putting them in my computer.

Cons: it needs it own power supply which isnt really all that bad. i find it frustrating trying to get a 2.5 inch hard drive in the thing properly though.

Other Thoughts: its cheap but it works. i don't know how well it would last if used for constantly moving large files. i have used occasionally it for cloning a hard drive.

5 out of 5 eggsVery pleased

Pros: Super easy set up, noticably faster then my USB 2.0 one, and on off switch.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Very pleased.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Works great! I had another dock from a different company, but it wouldn't work consistently. I bought this as a replacement, and so far I'm happy. I'm getting avg. file transfer speeds of around 40 MB/sec with USB 2.0. I imagine it would be faster with USB 3.0, but I only get internal transfer speeds of around 60 to 80 MB/sec.

Cons: None so far. I'm pretty happy, actually.

It's a little light weight. The other one I had was weighted down. But, this one is far more stable feeling because it has a nice, large stable base despite its light weight.

Other Thoughts: I have used this on both Windows 8 and on Ubuntu 12.04 (and on a Windows 8 virtual machine through a Ubuntu 12.04 host).

5 out of 5 eggsPlug n Play all the way

Pros: Plugged it in and went to work. As it should be. It's a no brainer as most docks are. Instructions aren't needed with today's OS's. You really do just plug it in and play (use it).

Cons: none. but it is the largest form factor dock I own, but is light as a feather, interesting.....

Other Thoughts: Own 4 docks, each different, 3 being USB3. As a simple no frills dock it's excellent.

The packaging was warehouse damaged on one side, but, the important parts were perfect, new and good to go.

4 out of 5 eggsSimple, easy, and affordable

Pros: Easy hook up via USB running at average USB 3.0 speeds. Working with hard drives is pretty straight forward.

Cons: Not an easy "drop-in" for hard drives. Requires specific angling to get the ports to align but a quick wiggle of the hard drive confirms a secure fit.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product So Far

Pros: Had no problems setting this up, it went straight from the box to up and running. No issues inserting the drive or getting it to appear on my computer. The USB 3.0 port on this makes it much faster than my old USB 2.0 docking station, but it's still compatible with USB 2.0 when I need it to be. Also, the flexibility between SATA I/II/III will be a useful feature with the many different drives I expect to see in the future. Thumbs up to XIGMATEK for this excellent product.

Cons: The USB connector sticks out a bit in the back of the docking station, which sometimes causes me to worry about whether or not it's connected. No connectivity issues as of yet, however, so I'll hazard an educated guess that for functionality it's not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: As a side note, I like the aesthetic design of the docking station. If I run into any other notes, I'll update the review (if possible).
