Nippon Labs 2.5" Black SATA to USB 2.0 External Enclosure for SATA I and SATA II Hard Drive Model USB-25SATA-BK

Pros: Easy to connect. Easy to use. It is a HDD Case.... what else can I say. If you have no clue how to work with hardware you can still use this.If in your life you have worked with a Screwdriver and Plugged in a cell phone you should have no issues with this.

Cons: Screws are small. If this is not a permanent enclosure you will inevitably lose one of the 2. It would be best if this had a clip or other quick release locking mechanism. The connection piece is not flimsy, it is quality, but I would say it seems delicate. Just be cautious while using and do not force it to connect.

Other Thoughts: Get it! Buy it now! you know you want it and once you have it you will be sublimely happy!

Pros: Good price, intuitive and very portable! The curved case design keeps the drive secure inside and prevents any sliding. Has lasted me to date over 2 years.

Cons: If you ever need to take the drive out, be careful as the adhesive keeping the HDD controller glued to the plastic case top can become loose. But this can't really hinder the product, but could make it difficult to swap drives in/out of the case. Chances are you aren't doing this very much at all though.

Other Thoughts: I bought this after I gave my MacBook to my mother for mother's day and I swapped drives out so I could keep the larger drive. The drive and this enclosure still work to this day, over 2 years!

Pros: works Well with just one USB power, Supported upto 500GB

Pros: It may work for other 2.5" HDDs

Cons: I bought this so I can hook up my dead hp laptop's hdd and save the files to my desktop.... The hdd doesn't fit in this thing....

Pros: These cases are great, have several that I use for client job transportation and storage. Love the fact that they use a regular sized USB connection rather than the more fragile mini.

Cons: This one showed up with a shorted out USB cable, cost me the usb capability of my monitor. Now the monitor has to go in for service for a blown up USB hub. ARG!

Pros: It was pretty cheap and the installation was easy. Works great.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Bought it to replace the previous enclosure for my external hard drive.

Pros: Worked with 1 of my SATA Drives but not the other.

Cons: Does not work with all SATA Drives.

Pros: These units are a great way for me to have consistency of appearance on the drives I use for client work. I have 3 of the SATA, and 1 of the equivalent in PATA. They have all worked well without problems mentioned in the other reviews. Not quite sure what to say to those folks. Mine have been great.

Cons: Drive does flop a little, I took a small piece of foam mounting tape made by 3m, and all is golden.

Other Thoughts: The nice thing about these enclosures is that the white lettering comes off easily. This can be replaced with a company logo, and sent off to clients. Many that complain about the custom USB cable must have not experienced the issues with mini USB connectors that I have, I will never buy another HD wiht a mini USB connector after using these.

Cons: Uses two USB ports (not sure why)
HDD tends to knock around inside of the enclosure

Other Thoughts: I purchased this enclosure because my laptop died and there some very important documents that were stored on its hard drive. The Nippon Labs external enclosure was just what I needed to extract the files onto my new laptop. Can't beat the price and I had it up and running in about two minutes.

Pros: Small, decent leather case. Easy installation.

Cons: HD rattled a bit inside the case so I had to follow the advice of other reviewers and put the manual in next to the HD. That solved the problem and it works great.
