Great Product
- Pros: - Plug and Play, no issues with install on Windows 7
- Worked as described,
- Pleased as punch
- Cons: Only negative is location of power button . . .but not really a drawback.
- Other Thoughts: entire event from order, delivery, instaal and usage went off flawlessly
The Best HD Docking Bay
- Pros: Great dual slot HD wide-base design to prevent from tipping over that some other brands I own are prone to do.
Power light indicator on the Docking Bay & Power Supply. Also ...individual Blue HD Indicator lights for each Hard Drive.
For now the price includes FREE shipping !
- Cons: NONE ...I've purchased several & never had a problem.
- Other Thoughts: To those Newegg purchasers of the unit ...remember All Brands have an occasional defect regardless of the product.
I just ordered another one ...this is "THE BEST" HD Docking Bay you can buy.
Unique, functional, but a bit quirky
- Pros: Unique product, if this is what you need there is no competition
Easy to use, no custom drivers required
Fast transfer rate (as fast as any USB drive I have)
- Cons: A bit quirky (sometimes refuses to mount both drives)
No indication when the drive is properly seated (only LEDs for activity)
Screwy 3-bit settings where one bit is not used and it came with a notice that setting the bits to an invalid state can corrupt data.
- Other Thoughts: I needed this functionality badly as I am doing a complex swap of drives and needed to quickly mount first one drive then another. So, this was exactly what I needed and saved me time. However, while it has always mounted both drives if I reboot the computer with both drives seated, it often only mounts the first drive hot-inserted and ignores the second drive. If I pull out the mounted drive then it immediately mounts the second drive it refused to mount in the first place (and re-inserting the just pulled drive does not get it to mount). Argh. So, mount both drives and reboot. Note that I have not tried the drive spanning mode (only JBOD mode).
