1 out of 5 eggsThank everyone its Discontinued

Pros: holds two sata hard drives-

Cons: every time I have tried to copy files, after exactly one minute, it disconnects itself and the transfer file is interrupted/disconnected.

Other Thoughts: do not buy- spend a lit more, and invest in something better.

1 out of 5 eggs3 month OK--then dead

Pros: Worked great for about 3 months.

Cons: First one, then both drives would not show up at all and could not be found or mounted from the PC/Mac. They would spin up and then--nothing. For a few weeks, I could unplug the power supply for 5 minutes, plug in and restart and get the drives to show. But shut down and restart and each time drives were gone. Now, no amount of fiddling will get a drive to show. The first bay does not even spin up any drive anymore, only the second bay will spin up a drive--but it still cannot be recognized by any computer.

I have an EZ-Dock 2 (USB 2) that has functioned fine for years. It cost more--but it worked. This was wasted money. And yes, it annoyingly put the drives to sleep far too quickly meaning with any activity on your computer, the drives would need to wake up and everything stopped for about 30-45 seconds while it did this.

Other Thoughts: Price is attractive but there is a hardware or design failure in either the dock or the power supply that results in total failure. Skip this dock if you are wise.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't keep drives powered

Pros: Holds 2 drives, USB 3.0, low price

Cons: It randomly powers down the drives, even when I'm trying to access them (well, it's more like the directories were cached, but the drives had long since powered down, so actually accessing a file would require powering up the drives again).
My motherboard does have native support for USB 3.0, and I am using its latest drivers; the dock has the same problem in USB 2.0 connection.
This is more an issue of the firmware - it seems to have a really terribly designed power-save "feature" or something.

4 out of 5 eggsYour mileage may vary

Pros: The price, compatibility (USB 3 & 2, and I've used it with up to 3TB hdd), the speed (when it doesn't spin down the hard drive, see my other thoughts below).

Cons: Spins down the hard drive way too fast, around ~2 mins of inactivity.

Other Thoughts: I wrote a small program to run in background to do a small disk access (r/w) every minute, then my hdd never spins down whenever I'm using it. I let it spins down whenever I don't need them which also keeps the hdd cools down, and they'll spin up again the next time I need them. It works for me this way, better than returning it and try to find other USB3 dual docks with much higher prices.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your time or money!

Pros: The price is low.

Cons: This product simply does not work well! It is constantly powering down the drives, even during the middle of a file transfer. It keeps dropping the usb connection and transfer speeds are about twice as fast as usb 2; instead of 12mb/s with usb2 it's almost 30 with usb3. It's supposed to be faster than that! My USB2 dock is faster.

Other Thoughts: Dual USB 3 docks are tough to get for a good price. That being said, this one is really not worth the money unless you like having drives spin down and unmount constantly during file transfers.

1 out of 5 eggsWas great while it worked

Pros: Fast, simple to use, Supports 3TB drives

Cons: Worked for 2 days then stopped displaying drives. Still powered drives up, but drive letters wouldn't show up in windows. Tested on 2 laptops (Windows 7 & Mac) and 2 Desktops (Windows XP). None of the computers would even detect the drives in this enclosure, but DO detect the drives in my single drive USB enclosure.

Other Thoughts: I love this unit, that it supports 3TB drives, and it's a dual unit compatible with both 2.5" & 3.5" drives. Going to exchange for a new unit and hope this is just a lemon. If the new one works for more than a month I'll order half a dozen more.

3 out of 5 eggsSo So

Pros: Works great as advertised.

Cons: When idle, it keeps powering down the drive. So, when trying to access the drive again. You can see auto-start will have a windows pop-up and you can then see the drive again. Also, you see two drives as one USB connection. It would be nice that they can see two USB connections so you can disconnect one drive without having to power down both drives.

4 out of 5 eggsVery light

Pros: Light and small, fits in my pack very well as does the power unit. has supports for 2.5" hdd's (my old dock did not) usb 3.0 support flies, very happy with that. haven't had any problems with it so far, however I did have it turn off then back on real fast, I have not been about to recreate it, hopefully its a hiccup that will only happen once.

Cons: although light (which I like) it does feel cheap, also the lights can get confusing, both lights for both bays are always on, the only way to tell which drive is working is to watch for a flickering light (not a big deal but I think it could be better, but that's just me). the USB 3.0 cord is extremely short 3 feet is not quite long enough for me.

Other Thoughts: the only thing keeping it from a 5 is the cord and light which are my personal nitpicks.

2 out of 5 eggsGood price, but doesn't work for me

Pros: -Good price
-When it works, it's pretty fast

Cons: -Causes the drive to go to sleep when I'm using it. Then the drive will suddenly power back up. I know it's not an issue with the drive, since it works fine in my single enclosure.
-Would be nice if there were two separate power buttons for the two bays. If I want to remove one drive, I need to shut both down.
