5 out of 5 eggsGood HTPC Power Supply

Pros: The power suppy has performed great so far. I am very impressed as to how quiet it is. Stays quiet even after a watching a couple of blu ray movies, and streaming from netflix over several hours. Case is a Silverstone Milo series ML03B.

Cons: Did not come with an full size adapter to mount in my case.

5 out of 5 eggsThis PSU is a trooper

Pros: Bought this PSU as apart of a budget/first build and I can't say I'm not completely satisfied. Some of the other parts I bought for this build have been giving me problems and I've disassembled/switched out and tested things more times that I can count, and this PSU hasn't hiccuped once despite all the fiddling in the >year I've owned it.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The computer this is running is only ~300W usage so I'm not sure how this handles closer to its max.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking for about a year so far

Pros: I am giving this PS 4 stars because the first one smoked and died on the first day. Newegg was great though and replaced it quickly. The replacement unit has been working for about a year without any problems.

As long as you get a good one, this is a good PS for the money. There aren't a lot of micro ATX supplies for sale and I needed one for my HTPC case where the original one died. This one is a good balance of cost and features and suits my needs.

Cons: As said, the first one died on the first day but newegg replaced it quickly and the replacement has been working for around 1 year.

4 out of 5 eggsNice PSU

Pros: Comes packaged nicely with cables pre-sleeved, along with mounting screws and a couple of small zip ties. Handles going into & coming out of sleep mode in Win7 quite nicely.

Cons: None, so far. Had a slight burning smell when first powered up.

Other Thoughts: It might not be suited for really small HTPC style cases, or very small proprietary PC cases. For smaller PC's - it really comes with more power connector tails than are needed. I ziptied mine off and stuffed them into an unused drive bay to keep them out of the way. This PSU is probably best used in a case that takes a full ATX motherboard, but could benefit from having the smaller format PSU (but you'd need to find an adapter plate for the back, as one is not supplied).

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of money

Pros: None

Cons: First power supply died after only 2 weeks worth of use. RMA'd it to newegg and got a replacement. The second one lasted for about two months worth before it started randomly shutting down the system. Now I have to true to get a replacement from Diablotek.

What a hassle.

Other Thoughts: All I need this to power was a 120 gb ssd, a i3-2100, and and a dvd drive. Surely a 380 watt should be able to handle that.

1 out of 5 eggsGoes out of spec with 60W on 5V, and 35W on 12V rails

Pros: It didn't blow up the PC I used this in, and it didn't blow up my CBA-IV Pro battery analyzer. Can give 2A on 12V rail, and 7 amps on 5V rail without going out of spec.

Cons: This power supply has terrible voltage regulation. I was barely able to load the 5V rail to 60W before the PSU shut down. It's rated for 90W. My battery analyzer only handles up to 150W, and loading the 12V rail with 150W or 15A brings the 12V voltage down to 9V!

Other Thoughts: I'm very glad this didn't blow up anything of mine, but this is a terrible, terrible power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsBest PSU for the price, bar none.

Pros: I bought this as a supply for a fun little system I was building, and it absolutely blew me out of the water. Extremely high quality build; Feels completely solid, the 20+4, 4+4, and 6+2 pins all click together easily and look great. No sliding or loose pins (I've had this problem with cheap PSUs before). Heck, it even came with a rubber sound dampening gasket - not that it needed one, this thing runs silently. Voltage is stable enough for a mild overclock on a mid-range m-atx board. (MSI H61M-P31). Overall, This thing has the quality of my massive corsair PSU, but for about 1/5 the price. Easily the best sub-500 PSU I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

Cons: None so far - runs well, stable, no issues through a two-day burn in. I was absolutely floored with how good this thing is, can't stop singing my praises.

Other Thoughts: The 24-pin was a BIT of a tight fit for my board. It felt like it needed a TINY bit more pressure than it normally should. A small price to pay for such an otherwise amazing PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsGOOD PS

Pros: Was skeptical, because it's Diablotech... Good amperage on the 12V+ rails. 22Amps, and its reliably powering a LP NV 250 GT (which wants 24A) so that says something. I have been beating the heck out of this machine running FPS/3rd Person Shooters non stop for 3-5 hours a day since I got this thing installed. I'm running newer games on an older video card at the maximum settings, so I put a serious load on the Power Supply daily.

Cons: Nothing serious. Cable management, as always, is a real dog with non modular power supplies.

Other Thoughts: For the money, you can't beat the output and durability I have been getting out of this thing. It's small and it's pumping out the Amps and watts happliy.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking After 2 years

Pros: I've had this PHD380M installed for a couple of years now. It runs all day every day (shut down at night), and no issues. The sheathed wires keep things semi-organized, and they haven't come unraveled although I go into the works sometimes.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: A lot of the down-ratings seem to have to do with size. The exact size of this power supply is listed under the "Details" tab, so it might be wise to take a look there. Case (but not motherboard) manufacturers are sometimes casual about what they call mico, mini, or mid, and "HTPC" is anybody's guess.

It's easy to forget that power supplies have fans too. If there are two monster fans blowing exhaust air out of a case, then it's possible that the power supply is being starved for cooling air. This is going to result in early failure with any brand.
