1 out of 5 eggsGarbage!

Pros: Price and that is about it

Cons: Have had at least 5 of these fry - burn - pop etc. on me in the last couple of months...Purchased probably a dozen or more while building PC's for a couple of different clients - the particular model I have is actually PSDA450A which is not sold directly or was discontinued (purchased mine bundled with a case...) so I am leaving my review here for the 500W model and again for the 400W to hopefully save some people the headache this has caused me

Other Thoughts: NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE - These PC's were built as standard workstations for users in an office environment - no special power requirements - I was only using the Motherboard / CPU and one or two SATA connectors off of these supplies (most of the PC's don't even have an optical drive as we never use them any longer - one on the network is good enough in most workplaces and the others are all connected to SSD's so very little power draw) - I require high quality UPS units for every PC I build for my clients (cheap insurance and limited business continuity during a short term power failure) and in the two particular locations where these have been failing on me they also have line conditioners at the panel for the PC dedicated circuits so I know that utility company issues played no role in their failure. I'm a firm believer in you generally get what you pay for and to be fair the price was right but taking a longer view it has not been worth the damage to my reputation over failed power supplies with these clients. Fortunately the fix is quick and easy and I have absorbed the labor in switching the failed units out - I have actually ordered replacements for all the others that I am aware I have in service and have been switching them out when onsite for other reasons as a precaution going forward.

1 out of 5 eggsEl Diablo gives up the ghost in 8 months

Pros: So light in weight that I can pick it up with one finger

Cons: Lasted 8 months before it blew... but it gave me plenty of notice it was going to die for the two weeks leading up to its death. Every morning when I turned it on the fan would screech and labor hard to get up to speed.

Other Thoughts: I suppose I got 8 months of value out it so I am not all that bitter, but I would never put this quality of PSU in a mission-critical situation.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good

Pros: Does what it needs to, performs as I want it to. Having two fans can be rather helpful, and having two hasn't made it noisy either.

Cons: None so far, but i've only had it for a month. I will say the power cord that came with it is kinda short, only a 4-footer.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these, second one for my friend, to replace our over-used, under-powered PSU's, and so far, they've been good. The noise is practically silent (but seeing as my case has noisy fans, I haven't noticed a difference) and installation was easy. Definitly the way to go if you want a cheap, but reliable PSU.

4 out of 5 eggsNice economy power supply

Pros: Very inexpensive. Works well. Not quiet, but not noisy. You can hear it easily, but it is not a nusiance. Good for a medium-small case or smaller. Has all the plugs necessary for an old NForce 2 motherboard that I installed it in.

Cons: I personally have no cons with this power supply, but I replaced a unit in a medium sized case. The ordering of the cable ends should of been different to be more accomodating. In a larger case, I would of had wiring issues, such as length and connector ordering on the wires.

Other Thoughts: Deals like this unit, I always appreciate for aging equipment.

3 out of 5 eggsPSD400 400W

Pros: Low price and many features

Cons: Noise. Has two fans and the rear is high speed.

Other Thoughts: Good value for a machine that will be on the floor and the ~70 db noise level won't be an issue. Have bought several in the past an all work well.

1 out of 5 eggsDead, dead dead!

Pros: Low Cost?

Cons: Poor value for the money, as it did not work.

Other Thoughts: Believe the other poor ratings. Such a bad experience. Despite being in a neighboring state from the shipping location, this item was sent to two other states before finally reaching me after 10 days. Then to add insult to injury, it is DOA. Dead. Tested and confirmed DOA. Back it goes (at my expense of course).

4 out of 5 eggsGood, Cheap Power Supply

Pros: Cheap, two 80mm fans, one on bottom/top (depending on where you mount it) and one exhaust.

Cons: SHORT CABLES; These cables are really short, maybe 18" long. Definitely helps to have a MicroATX case, or similar. Fans aren't too loud, but they're somewhat noticeable.

Other Thoughts: Pretty good replacement power supply; nothing too fancy, but gets the job done. Priced very well for a 400 watt, even though it isn't 80 Plus certified.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Warranty support!!!

Pros: The quality seems to be better than most inexpensive power supplies that I have used in the past. Quiet for the most part.

Cons: I have had about a dozen of these and have only had a problem with 2 of them. One sparked when I turned it on for the first time. One I was able to get it warrantied through newegg as it was within the 30 days. The other I am trying to get it warrantied through the manufacture. I have tried to submit the rma request online and have never gotten any response (3 weeks of waiting). I am currently on the phone trying to talk to someone and have not been able to get a hold of anyone. The first time I called I got hung up on at 12 minutes of waiting on hold. This time I got hung up on at the 9 minute mark.

Other Thoughts: What good is a warranty if you can't actually get a hold of anyone that will honor it. I will not be buying any more from this manufacture. I went to the facebook page for the company and it looks like I am not alone. I would suggest you read those comments before you make a decision on weather to purchase a DiabloTek product.
