5 out of 5 eggsOK but!

Pros: Does what its supposed to do and solid built.

Cons: OK this was tough to review. I like it alot but man its a tight fit. This is not a bad thing because you don't want the drive to move, but the black finish scraped off a bit trying to get it in. I'm not gonna call this a con cause who cares, but mentioning anyway.

Other Thoughts: I would buy again just on the solid build alone.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good

Pros: Made of real metal not cheap plastic junk like most everything else. The actual fit and finish is most impressive, built like a tank.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Even tho it is just a small potato item it's nice to see some real quality for a change.

5 out of 5 eggsReally impressed

Pros: Man I love this thing. I bought it to breath some new life into an older sata II machine and WOW what a difference. This thing boots 3 times than my Samslow ssd (that cost twice as much). No mow Samsung for me.

Cons: NONE ! (Only had it about a month so this review is on performance not about longevity)

Other Thoughts: You will not be disappointed in this drive.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Is what it says it is.
Used this to mount an old 80 GB HDD from my PS3 to use as a second boot drive which has Ubuntu loaded on it. Since it's metal, it stays nice and cool.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsBeefy tray, centered drive

Pros: - Heavy galvanized steel, feels very beefy
- Comes with screws
- Notch under the edge of the drive makes getting at cables easier
- Cheap

Cons: - Drive is centered rather than positioning the connectors where they would be in a 3.5" drive
- Screws aren't quite flush with the bottom

Other Thoughts: Comparing this sled with the somewhat similar Mushkin drive bracket, its advantage is that it's heavier-duty, a bit longer (depending on where the mounting holes in your case are), and a little cheaper.

Disadvantages are that the screws aren't quite flush with the underside, and the drive sits centered on the bracket rather than offset to one side, so if your use case expects the connectors to be in the standard location for a 3.5" drive (for example, in a sled, or with cables "aimed" at one side of the drive) this one simply won't work.

It also has a textured finish, where the Mushkin's is smooth powder coating. On balance, I prefer the Mushkin.

2 out of 5 eggsOuter holes are the wrong size

Pros: Cheapest available

Cons: Outer holes are threaded

Other Thoughts: Outer screw holes should match the size and thread count a 3.5" hard drive, but are actually drilled the same as a notebook hard drive. This causes an issue for hard drive mount systems (in an apple iMac for example).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works and is compatible with just about any HDD cage that uses screws to attach drives. Comes with all necessary screws to attach 2.5" drive.

Cons: Metal is a little flimsy compared to other products I've used, but still works fine. If you're constantly reinstalling drives, I'd think about a different product with a thicker metal.

Other Thoughts: I've tried multiple products that do the same thing. The plastic versions have difficulty with screws and the thicker metal versions are more expensive. Seems to be a good medium range product.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work with hotswap bays

Pros: If you using regular cables this should work fine. Comes with bracket and 8 screws.

Cons: Does not work with hot swap bays as spacing is incorrect
