2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: ?

Cons: Mounting of SSD's is such that only straight-in SATA or power connectors will work. In particular SATA power connectors that have the wires coming out the side (which is a lot of them) either do not fit at all or have to be forced such that the SSD connectors are dangerously stressed.

5 out of 5 eggsSSD Tray

Pros: This tray works perfectly and that is all I really need to say.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have several different cases that i looked at for the build I did. An old Dell case, old old HP case and a generic case, and this tray fit into everyone of them without any modifications. Sadly, I can't say that for the other two trays I purchase. It may not be the cheapest but it has worked with out issue.

3 out of 5 eggsMediocre but it works

Pros: Made of aluminum, helps keep drives cooler. Ready for an 80mm fan if you opt for something else to hold your SSD and want to keep an above HD cooler.

Cons: Longer than it need to be. Doesn't line up with holes for screwless cases.

3 out of 5 eggsas advertised, but extremely flimsy

Pros: it mounts my hard drive just fine and I see there are two settings for mounting; high or low (depending on how thick the HDD is)

Cons: very flimsy, easy to break, not very sturdy is the only con I can think of

Other Thoughts: design is ok I don't buy things for design but I would like to buy them for quality and quality can't be touched online. It still came as advertised so that's the main important concern.

1 out of 5 eggsNot for Alienware

Pros: Looks nice,. Low cost.

Cons: Will not work for Alienware Aurora R2 or possibly other cases that are prewired. The SSD / 2.5" drives are held 1" deep into cabinet, so that pre-wired power daisy chained power cables will not reach the connectors. I was able to kluge it to work after some fiddling, but only one SSD drive can be mounted in this way, and only one slot will work to hold it. I need to find a bracket that holds the power / Sata connectors in the same place as they are for a 3.5" drive.

Also, only 2, not 4 of screws in the tool-less Alienware mounting bracket line up with the SSD bracket.

Other Thoughts: Metal was saved in the design of this bracket by making it shorter than a 3.5" drive. But this causes things to not line up with connectors in pre-wired cases. Not all holes are present in the bracket, so some tool-less case designs are not compatible with this bracket.

1 out of 5 eggsnot for 2 drives

Pros: Light weight. Screws included

Cons: The mounting mounts the lower drive against the metal bracket. If you are mounting a hard drive here you may short it out. The holes for the second drive mounting are so close that the two drives are squeezed against each other. So to install them you must leave the screws loose on both drives until you have all the screws started. Again since you are squeezing two drives together you have the probability of shorting them together. Also becaus the drives are so closely mounted you can not use standard SATA data or power connector. You need connectors that have the wires coming straight out the back of them. Bothe side of the bracket have issues. One side has a long flat metal protrusion and the other has a vertical metal that blocks cabling. I had to cutoff both ends of the bracket to use it. Then I had to install the ssd first since it has no external electrical connections to short. Then I had to install the drive with the circuit board up to prevent it from shorting to the sad. I also had to install the drive with the connectors facing opposite the connectors on the ssd so i could plug both drives in. I also had to buyt new sata cables that were striaght and a sata power adapter that had straight connectors on them. If this had not been going into an older system of mine i would have just thrown it out. Also the screw holes on the bottom plate do not line up to anything.

Other Thoughts: Not suitable for its intended use.
