5 out of 5 eggsIgnore the innapropriate bad reviews

Pros: Cheap and simple. Won't burst into flames or knock up your daughter.

Cons: Some of the screw holes are a bit more difficult to use than others but those are really only necessary if you're using these with a 3.5"x1.75" drive. I haven't seen one of those in many, many years, though.

Other than that. they don't install themselves, order pizza, make a sandwich, or throw epic parties.

Other Thoughts: Ignore the bad reviews.

Won't fit your SSD? Of course it won't, Genius; this bracket (as is clearly stated in the description) is for mounting a 3.5" device in a 5.25" bay. Your SSD is 2.5" (which is not the same as 3.5" for those who have severely impaired spatial perception).

Four of the screws don't fit? Of course they don't; they're for the 3.5" hard drive you're attaching to these brackets. 3.5" devices use 6-32 screws and 5.25" HH devices use M3 screws. It's been this way for more than 25 years. I didn't understand back then why 5.25" devices used smaller screws and I still don't but that's just the way it is. Anyone who self-assigns a tech level of four or five should be completely aware of that fact.

I remember when these first became common as 3.5" hard drives began replacing 5.25" as standard. I thought they were a brilliantly simple solution to the problem at hand and they still are. I've used dozens of them over the years and they have always worked precisely as intended.

2 out of 5 eggsholes didn't line up

Pros: metal, just that

Cons: holes didn't line up to my Crucial M500 SSD. Didn't come with any instructions, not even a diagram.

3 out of 5 eggsHoles did not line up to my SSD

Pros: Let's see... it's metal and strong.. not really much pros..

Cons: I have a Kingston Hyper X SSD 120 GB and this does not line up to the holes.

Also 4 of the screws that come with it does not fit in any holes in the bracket! LOL good for spare parts I guess

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommeded getting something eles other then this
