1 out of 5 eggsBroken tab of SATA adapter

Pros: The device work well with my 2.5" ssd and HDD. I like it.

Cons: The SATA plastic adapter tab of the box had broken and made the connection of SATA cable into the box impossible....

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for SSD's

Pros: I have removable 3.5" full size SATA hard drives with several operating systems that I swap out but wanted to try an Samsung SSD drive. Problem its 2.5 in format and I use 3.5 swap. This was the solution that has worked for almost a year now. Installed the 2.5 SSD into this unit. Slide the entire unit into the swap bay. Works like a champ.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsNot the same anymore:{

Pros: Works flawlessly storing & retrieving data. Easy to install.

Cons: BUT!!! The newer ones no longer operate their Indicator Lights. The first units I purchased are VERY user friendly, with the panel lite blinking when transfer to it are being made and goes off whenever the drive is removed. The latest ones purchased this month do not indicate ANYTHING.

Other Thoughts: The lite stays on ALL TIME. Does not blink or go off when the drive is NOT installed in bay. This is extremely problematic for the user.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than a usb3 external!!!

Pros: THIS is the way to go with PC backup systems IF you do not have a NAS.
Format the laptop drive you have in this unit with exFAT in windows 7, that way it can be identified as a removable hard drive (storage). and left in the desktop!!

EZ and secure latching system!!
Do not worry about the bright activity light!! It is great once windows identifies this as a removable drive it works Flawlessly!! REMEMBER if you use this drive Format GPT and exFAT. You cannot go wrong!!!!!

Cons: Wish I would have found this system years ago!!

Other Thoughts: USE a WD black edition laptop Drive 7200rpm with 5 year warranty that Beats ANY external drive!!!
SUPER fast Backups of Large HD video files with absolutely NO corruption.

Purchase Extra trays for additional hard drive fast swaps!!

4 out of 5 eggsGot it to work

Pros: Makes a nice way to protect your expensive SSD and prevent other family members from sabotaging your computer by hiding it! It comes with SATA cable and a power adapter pigtail.

Cons: Packaging fit for a diamond ring, let alone a little plastic drive drawer! I'd rather have it shipped in a bubble pack and save a couple of bucks then waste so much cardboard! As for the drive drawer, I got it to work after making a little mod. I installed my new SSD and all seemed fine until I tried to remove it from the enclosure. Opps...It won't come out! Got jammed in. Darn. Had to remove the whole thing from the computer, take the metal cover off, gently coax the drawer to release itself from the slot. Learned that the little spring clips that hold the drive in were not seating well into the little screw holes on the hard drive. Because of that, the "ears" on the clips were hanging up on the mouth of the the enclosure. Dremel Tool to the rescue! Sanded down the offending "ears" just a bit and it now slides in and out just fine.

Other Thoughts: Nice design, but leaves very little "wiggle room". Seems my OCZ SSD drive is like a nanometer bigger than it's spinner cousins and fit quite snug in the tray. Also, has this bright blue LED light that incessantly blinks all the time, lighting up my room like a discotheque! Black electrical tape cures that little annoyance. Overall, ya, if your budget is tight, especially after blowing a weeks pay on a SSD, this is the way to go!
