5 out of 5 eggsSturdy and easy to install. Would buy again.

Pros: - Pretty solid piece of sheet metal. Not easily bent
- Comes with all the necessary screws
- Was easy for me to install

Cons: - None in particular

Other Thoughts: - The threading/holes are smaller than the ones that my HDs have, but since it comes with 4 screws with wide enough heads to screw them in securely it was not an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsNeeds an insulator

Pros: Great finish. Holes line up correctly.

Cons: They either need to stamp it so the bottom mounting holes are raised, or include an insulator. The solder points on the bottom of my WD drive touch the metal, so I cut a piece of static pouch off to insulate.

5 out of 5 eggs(Almost) Idiot-proof.

Pros: Bought three of these to put in my old X58 build. They are quite easy to install, although I had to use the provided screws to mount them to the hard drive rails rather than the intended pressure pins. No big deal -- now my SSDs and old laptop hard drive ride in the case securely.

Cons: I wish they were light gray to match the insides of my case, but that's neither here nor there.

5 out of 5 eggsSo simple it's Genius!

Pros: It just works. Extremely sturdy. Perfect fit.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: This is pure simplicity that it's great. I have one each in 3 PC's and a server...every place I have an SSD. The screws fit perfectly underneath to secure the SSD, and the the rigid metal frame fits and secures perfectly inside a 3.5" bay.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent quality mounting bracket for SSD

Pros: Works just as a 2.5" to 3.5" drive adapter is expected to.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: People seem to be complaining about the screw standards and drilling holes to put the coarse threaded screws into the bracket. Floppy Drives (3.5"), Media Card Readers (3.5"), Tape Drives (3.5") all use the M3 mounting screws and are the standard for such. The 2.5" to 3.5" mounting brackets I've purchased before for older notebook hard drives were the exact same way - used the M3 mounting screws! The only 3.5" devices that used the coarse threads were the actual 3.5" Desktop HDDs.

There is nothing wrong with this bracket and if you need extra screws for the bracket, take them from an old CD-ROM or Floppy drive. This mounting bracket was perfect and for its price I shall find myself getting several more!

5 out of 5 eggsChinoiserie...

Pros: I bought it via one of my client's account (I'm not a "verified owner"). And I will need it for another build. It works, it's in metal and it's black.

Cons: It works when using the provided screws : DON'T LOOSE THEM! Which was the case of my client when the time to build his PC came about : I had to drill new holes so as to use standard screws.

Other Thoughts: We should NOT have to drill holes in computer parts like this (even IKEA understands this)! That's what happens when manufacturers are "used" to an environment willfully ignoring regulations and standardizations : LAZINESS while most of the brain is switched to "off"... Don't take the time to verify if it fits with standards, throw it on the market and wait for incomes since some monopoly stance behind will guarantee revenues anyways... Which is really bad when it's a manufacturer selling its guyzmo to other companies who put their names on it (Vantec and Bytecc offer the exact same and non-standard drilled mounting kit).

Unfortunately there's no other manufacturer of such kit it seems : I'll soon require such bracket for a Samsung SSD 840 EVO, however the Bytecc bracket-125 has holes that don't fit from what I've read. Thus I will be obliged to buy another Vantec and make sure not to loose the screws.. (( On another matter, here we have a perfect example of why Globalization driven by wanna-be monopolistic companies/bankers is a VERY BAD thing for humanity and its evolution, as it eliminates the choice to make things better and which fit with standards : who cares when you're the only one manufacturer without competition? Such financial globalization = communism)).

On the bright side of it, that piece of metal made me write and practice my English... ;-P

1 out of 5 eggsNON-STANDARD SIDE SCREW HOLES!!

Pros: - nice black, solid metal item

Cons: - I should've seen the other reviews for this product when I bought it but didn't. As everyone else noticed, the side screw holes which are used to mount this inside the 3.5" drive bay are not standard size. My screws didn't work. Normally, this would not have been an issue as I could have used the included screws. Alas, my case requires the use of ridiculously long screws to secure anything in a bay. The included screws were to short while the screws included with my case would not work as this adapter used non standard thread screws.

STANDARDS EXIST FOR A REASON!!!

Other Thoughts: Some products, if you are concerned about them, you can give a 4 or 3 stars to. This type of product either works or it doesn't. Since it didn't use standards threads in the holes, this product simply didn't work making this the first time I've given a product a 1 star on newegg.

It is a shame. This product is very well built and solid. It just simply didn't work.

You've been warned.
