3 out of 5 eggsPlastic 3.5" HDD Bracket Adapter for 2.5" HDD

Pros: 8 small screws to mount 2 2.5" HDD to the bracket, 4 medium screws for mounting the bracket to the computer. Plastic so probably can mount a small fan to cool the hard drive.

Cons: 3.99 dollars for a plastic bracket which has no heat sink capability.

Other Thoughts: I should have read the reviews. Did not cross my mind that anyone would make a plastic hard drive brackets. Yeh, increase the chance for your hard drive failure by place it in a plastic heat trap.

3 out of 5 eggsI don't know what I was expecting

Pros: For the price, it works, decent packaging, came with all necessary screws.

Cons: None really, it's plastic but that wasn't a surprise

Other Thoughts: It does what it says, at the price that it costs.

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff

Pros: Does what it says. Fits two 2.5'' SATA drives into the space of 1 3.5'' bay. Space saver! I'm building in a Thermaltake Xaser III case, and with these adapters, I can fit more drives than I'll EVER need in there.

Cons: Extremely minor con, but after installed, the only thing you can see of the drives is the side with the inputs. I like to label my drives so I can see which drive is which, but I also order them from smallest/largest top/bottom.

Other Thoughts: As long as your order your drives logically, you won't have a problem remembering which is which

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy

Pros: I love that this holds 2 2.5" SSD drives. I also like that it is plastic because I ended up needing to trim just a little since I have an HTPC case. Great value, great product.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsHOLES DONT LINE UP!

Pros: It got here. (see below in cons)

Cons: It got here FIVE days after the order was placed- on a wednesday afternoon before the close of the business day with THREE day shipping selected. Holes for mounting drive to 3.5 interior bay DO NOT LINE UP WITH COOLER MASTER CASE (elite 430). Too expensive to ship back for an RMA as this was already an overpriced piece of plastic. Guess I'm eating this one or melting it down to make a stupid paperweight. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Other Thoughts: see cons.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's plastic

Pros: Low cost, fits the OCZ SSD no problem

Cons: This unit is made of plastic, not metal. Would be easy to ruin the threads if you try to screw it in too much.

4 out of 5 eggsMeh, who needs sheetmetal?

Pros: Absolutely does the job. Koutech includes not one, not two, but three full sets of drive-mounting screws. It gets better: two of the screw sets are color-coordinated with the adapter, anodized black. Nice touch.

A thoughtful detail: rubber donuts pre-installed in the bottom screw holes, to damp any vibration from e.g. a laptop mechanical HDD, which is exactly what I mounted in mine.

Cons: A bit expensive for what it is. I mean, it's a cheap piece of plastic and a couple of sets of screws. But, it's still far more affordable than any drive adapter I could have purchased locally - if local stores even stocked such a thing.

Other Thoughts: You would think Newegg could have mentioned somewhere in the description or details that this is plastic. If I had known that, I would have ordered the nearly-identical Rosewill adapter for a few bucks less. It's not worth sending the thing back (postage would almost equal the cost), but you would think the material of which this adapter is made just MIGHT rate a mention under "Details." Some people might find plastic unacceptable vs. metal. All the thing has to do is hold a drive in place, though, so I wasn't too upset.

Normally, I wait longer than one day to do a review, but there's really very little that can go wrong with a drive mounting adapter. My Hitachi 2.5" HDD fit perfectly, and the adapter mounted correctly in my case (NZXT Source 210 Elite), so there isn't really any more to say.
