3 out of 5 eggsAdequate

Pros: Sturdy-enough and matches most stamped metal interior case construction. No surprises, which is good for a mounting bracket.

Cons: * The exterior mounting holes are not for standard 3.5" drive screws, but for the smaller variety in use on 2.5" drives. The package includes plenty of such screws, but this may present problems for some screwless cages.
* The metal edges are the bare stamping results, so they are sharp, but for an $8 install-and-forget interior bracket I don't really care.
* Mounting a 2.5" drive in the lower position will be a little annoying, as you have to negotiate a screw through the 3.5" mount rail. Upper position is a piece of cake though.

5 out of 5 eggsSteel Mounting Bracket

Pros: Easily mounted a 2.5" SSD in the lower holes of the bracket. Bracket it self was easy to mount in the internal 3.5" drive bay. The included screws fit the SSD, there are enough screws for two drives plus a couple spares. In all the handling I did not find any sharp edges.

Cons: Nothing really, does what it's supposed to do.

Other Thoughts: This is a very basic part just mechanical in nature. Looks right at home in my steel case.

1 out of 5 eggsOnly 1 1TB / 75GB will fit in this

Pros: Great Idea

Cons: Poor implementation

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I had a few 1TB 2.5" drives that I wanted to use in my desktop, but the brackets would only hold 1 drive instead of two. If they had drilled the holes further apart it would have been perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Good quality! Fits just right where I need it to. Great price and comes with screws.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Got this to mount a WD Black laptop drive that I had gotten someone, and then they backed out on me, so it was mine to keep. Decided one of my desktops needed a new drive so I put it in and it fits great! I like how it has 2 slots to mount 2 drives and I used to top one. I havent seen anyone say anything about the holes predrilled to mount a fan on the bottom, so I'm telling you now, there are predrilled holes on the bottom that fit an 80MM fan in case you have the need and the room to do so. Fits right in the slot with no issues at all. The pics make it look a little flimsy but trust me its not. The drive works great in this, no complaints at all.

3 out of 5 eggsNeeds Improvement

Pros: All metal mounting so no plastic holes to "strip out".

All mounting screws are the same size and worked with my 2.5 inch hard drives.

As seen in pictures, area below lower hard drive is very open allowing for good air flow and cooling.

Cons: All edges vary in degree of "sharpness". This problem appears to be a direct issue of using "crudely stamped" metal parts and no post-stamping finishing (to save cost?). Be very careful handling this hardware as "cut fingers" are very possible.

Access holes to mount lower hard drive may be too tight for some screwdrivers. Another millimeter in the diameter of the holes would help.

This mounting is not compatible with 90-degree SATA cables as the drives are approximately 2-3 millimeters recessed from the edge of the mounting metal. Also, using a 90-degree SATA cable on the upper hard drive would block access to the SATA connector on the lower hard drive. Even if the upper hard drive is used alone, a 90-degree SATA cable would have to be "horribly bent" to clear the mounting's metalwork.

Other Thoughts: Sturdy enough once hard drives are mounted.

Clearance between drives does not look to be enough, but extended temperature monitoring of mounted drives under heavy loads says otherwise.

I used 4 of these mountings in a CoolerMaster (Newegg item N82E16817993002) 4-in-3 mounting for a special application server. The mounting holes in these mounting plates only lined up 1 way in the CoolerMaster mounting. The supplied mounting screws with these mountings were adequate to secure them to the CoolerMaster mounting.

I would buy these moutnings again even though the edges can be sharp. They compare favorably to similar plastic mountings with the advantages of this mounting being: (1) metal, for better heat conduction; (2) less interference/blocking of air flow around the hard drives.

3 out of 5 eggsBE CAREFUL

Pros: Fits, all the screw holes line up (Believe it or not some companies screw this up!), includes plenty of screws, very light weight...

Cons: EXTREMELY SHARP EDGES!!! The edges are so sharp, it is almost like they sharpened them. The light stamped steel makes it feel flimsy. I'm not too concerned about that since it just holds a pair of 2.5" drives.

Other Thoughts: I didn't cut myself but it would be really easy to do so on this item.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice and Sturdy

Pros: As the title said it is a very durable mounting kit. I like the look of it even though I do not see it much but it does the job that it was built to do.

Cons: Was a tad hard to install but overall installation was less than 5 minutes.

5 out of 5 eggsFits perfect.

Pros: Decent built quality.
Fits perfect

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: With the 5 dollar rebate, this bracket is a steal for less than a dollar or free ( depends on when you got it.)
