4 out of 5 eggsGreat Concept

Pros: Good concept and functionality. Great for using drives for short periods of time, IE maintenance, formatting, data recovery, data scramble

Cons: Bad Frame. Flimsy, loose framing makes me worry that the unit will fall out of the bay and potentially damage a HDD

Other Thoughts: If I could find a way to tighten the frame up, it would definitely get that last egg.

5 out of 5 eggsExceptionally Functional

Pros: High level of utility, hot swap bays for 2.5" and 3.5" drives in the same shell, plus USB 3.0 ports to fill internal headers. Works great in a case with four worthless 5.25" bays. Seems quite sturdy, and noise prevention is neat.

Cons: Power switches might be a bad choice, while SATA is hot-swappable obvious problems if you switch it by accident during use. As a result of being highly functional it has a large number of parts, many moving, which worries me despite its sturdy frame. More importantly almost all of the internal metal is not sanded or rounded, and you could easily cut yourself so handle with care.

Other Thoughts: I bought three, all fully functional, easily installed, and ran out of USB 3.0 headers on my board, so I used a 3.0 to 2.0 converter, and it still works great.

The idea of locks is great, and the 2.5" are nice but the 3.5" are either plastic or soft metal and dented when I tried using the first one.

Overall they are an excellent choice to make the most of a spare 5.25" bay, and I am happy with them.

4 out of 5 eggs3rd time's the charm!

Pros: Awesome tool!

Cons: Took two replacements to get a perfect one.

Other Thoughts: As others have said, SATA cables don't lock. No biggie.

4 out of 5 eggsnice idea & some issues

Pros: Looks nice. Works with my OCZ SSD as well as my Hitachi 2TB drive. has blue led for each drive as well as an on/off switch.

Cons: You have to view that led light at just the correct angle to be able to see the red activity flashing. The modular connector at the end of the USB cables fits what? My MB does have 2 3.0 usb on the back panel but nothing internal so now what? Sata data connectors are flimsy feeling compared to those on a MB..

Other Thoughts: It's what I needed and I hope I can figure out a way to use the usb ports?

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works pretty good.

Cons: Sata connectors could be designed to be a tighter fit. Little loose. Sata cables with hooks have nothing to hook too. Keys are plastic.

4 out of 5 eggsNice unit, loose sata connectors

Pros: Quality build, easy access, uses ONE 5.25" bay for one 3.5" AND one 2.5" sata drive, on/off switch, vibration/noise isolated mount, onlu uses one power connector for both drives.

Cons: SATA connectors do not lock when using new cables with latches and they just feel lose, leavers/handels on doors are plastic (look like metal), door lock keys are plastic

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a nice unit. So far I have had one 2.5" SSD that fits and one that doesn't (different manufactures), but I blame the drive manufacturers for standardizing on physical dimentions for this. Standards for 3.5" drives seems MUCH better. I really would like to see better fitting sata connections on this unit.
