4 out of 5 eggsCheap mounting option

Pros: Nice way to mount a hard drive in a 5.25" bay

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not sure if the rubber grommets actually reduce noise, but it is still a good, cheap way to add a drive when you are out of 3.5" bays. I've seen higher drive temps from the drive being up out of the normal air flow area. This is not an issue with the product itself, but a consideration for use.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality Product...

Pros: Easy to install. Cheap. Secure mounting. Cheap. Does what it says, lets you mount HDD in 5.25" opening.

Cons: No instructions, but only takes a minute of thought to get the pieces oriented correctly.

Other Thoughts: Great price! For only a few dollars you can add an extra HDD to an old Dell that has only one HDD bay.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does what it's supposed to.

Cons: Doesn't really come with any instructions. Took me a while to figure it out. The fit is pretty loose in my case, the HDD still jiggles around a bit.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Inexpensive option to mount a 3.5 in a 5.25 space.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if the whole rubber thing to reduce vibration is effective or necessary, but it was the best price I could find and it works.

4 out of 5 eggsWork for cheap

Pros: Did what it was supposed to. Low price. Rubber mounts for vibration absorbtion.

Cons: Pain to get screws aligned in the drive bay.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a cheap way to put my HDD in a 5.25 drive bay. This isn't the best product, but it gets the job done and that is all that I needed.

5 out of 5 eggsLittle things mean a lot.

Pros: Simple, elegant, and some peace of mind for anyone affixing a 3 1/2" HDD in a 5 1/4" slot. Nice design, and well put together.

Cons: They won't fit in a 3 1/2 inch slot! :D

4 out of 5 eggsAnother way to install

Pros: Slightly better than the single-piece, generic HDD mounts.

Cons: If don't like wasting your time putting extra things together, besides the computer itself, get their single-piece HDD mounts.

Other Thoughts: Another way to install: Following the instructions from the other reviews (rubber washer between the two brackets), I found that the end of the screws poking out the bottom did not leave me enough clearance. Instead, I swapped the top/bottom order of the two brackets (big hole on bottom and small hole on top) so the screw goes up instead of down. When the brackets are assembled in this fashion, the hole pattern closely matches those of the single-piece HDD mounts. Good Luck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mounts

Pros: Nice rubber dampening for even more soundless operation. No instructions but easy to figure out especially if you are the type of person who would build or modify the inside of a computer.

Cons: No instructions but since it isn't a complex item I don't count it as a real con.

Other Thoughts: The washers are used to prevent the head of the screw from going through the large hole. The rubber goes in between the metal pieces. I attached the half with the long holes on to my HD and the half with the individual round holes to my case with the screws. I was unable to use the tool-less mounting rails and had to use screws to secure the mounting.

4 out of 5 eggsSimple, Cheep, Effective

Pros: Provides a nice soft rubber mount for your hard drives.

Cons: The bolts that go through the rubber grommets are not shoulder bolts. Since they are just regular bolts they never “bottom out” meaning you can just keep tightening and compressing the rubber. Also makes me worried they might back out, so I used a little loctight on each. Would be a nice cheep 5 star solution if they used shoulder bolts.

Other Thoughts: Some assembly required, though it’s not too tough to figure out.

If possible, I would buy an alternative product that used shoulder bolts.
