4 out of 5 eggssnt sac136b

Pros: This HD resk just works. I have had one for over a year. The new one will support my 2nd hd. I had problems with shipping but that was not New Egg's fault. They replaced the lost one with no hassle. Great service!!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I like New Egg.

2 out of 5 eggsLocked up

Pros: When it worked it worked great.

Cons: Though it did work great for about 20 minutes, after that I haven't been able to get it to work since. Every drive I put in it just clicks on attempt to load, from a small 40gb to my 1tb. Also every time it tries to load it locks up windows causing me to have to hard reboot.

Other Thoughts: When it worked it was great, I just hope no one else has these issues.

3 out of 5 eggsSometimes slow to respond. My sys won't boot with it on.

Pros: - Easy to install, and the rack and tray seem solid enough.

Cons: - The system it's in ( MSI 890GXM-G65 mobo) won't boot if this is turned on with a drive in it when booting. Hangs during BIOS check stage.

Other Thoughts: - HD Tune read test started out at 150 MB/s, but steadily dropped. At the end, the read times were 64 MB/s. The slowdown was linear.

- Running a checkdisk, with an empty drive, scanned quickly, but then took over a minute for the result dialog (showing no errors) to come up.

- Seems slow to come to life. Turning it on after the system is booted, Windows is slow to recognize it. Turning it off, it doesn't always see it's gone, and then may be slow trying to find it again at times.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Allows for high-speed SATA HDD file transfers w/out having to use an external eSATA or USB case, which is much slower. Power on/off switch, which is great because my system uses AHCI, which allows for hot-swap, so I can turn this unit on/off pretty much whenever, w/out having to reboot.

Cons: (1) it's made in China. (2) the wholes where screws go aren't very good, a little tight. I broke one of the screws off trying to tighten it. I didn't tighten it too much, as it wasn't even half way in before it broke off.

Other Thoughts: I love this unit, and I'm thinking about getting at least one more.

I just hope this thing will last, I really like it and it makes doing backups a lot easier for me since it's not external, so it's faster, and I didn't need it to be portable, which it is for any system that has a dock for this thing.

It's made in China, so of course I have concerns with this thing lasting a long time, it's working great so far.

Installed w/HITACHI Deskstar H3IK10003272SP (0S02860) 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal HDD

5 out of 5 eggsBest!

Pros: Nice tray for the price. I didn't want a lock so I choose this. Fan works well. Easy to install and change drive.

Model: SNT-SATATRAYB works as an additional tray

Cons: Lock sometimes comes undone - but still works well.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product- fit my criteria

Pros: I didn't want a keyed lock since the tray will go into a secure safe. I especially did not want a switched keyed lock to turn the thingie on/off. I wanted a front panel on/off switch and a SATA power connector (not Molex). This fits what I wanted. The case and tray are heavy guage aluminum and the plug in for the tray is solid. Comes with SATA cable. Ventilation openings are good. Drive has been cool.

Cons: The tray lever is plastic and seems to be OK but I really would've preferrered metal. The tray does have an incredibly cheap and flimsy mechanical twist lock that I intend to ignore so I don't much care . The rinkydink lock is why I dropped off 1 egg. I had a devil of a time finding a replacement/second tray. See Other Thoughts. The mfg website for this company is garbage.

Other Thoughts: There is nothing on the page to indicate this is the proper tray for this product SAC-136B but this is a link to the Newegg part if you want a second/spare tray.
