5 out of 5 eggsGreat thing to have

Pros: Adds extra 3.5 bays.
Is hotswappable for those who keep data on a bookshelf instead of having giant PC cases.
Has a fan for hard drive cooling.

Cons: Doesn't go good with a screwless case.
The lock switch is flimsy and I have a broken one after months of usage. Others seemed fine.

Other Thoughts: I wanted more 3.5 bays and since DVD drives are becoming more and more obsolete these days, I made use of all of those 5.25 bays.

1 out of 5 eggsReviews are high?

Pros: None

Cons: Cheap plastic, I received mine with the plastic ejection door missing. I would not recommend buying this. I should have known it was cheap.

Other Thoughts: None!

4 out of 5 eggsGood but little

Pros: Easy to install... Looks nice.

Cons: Almost* impossible to switch to locked without it flipping open. I may have a bad one... but you even look at the little dial wrong and the lever flips out.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent piece of equipment

Pros: I believe this mobile rack is one of the finest desktop PC peripherals a user can have.
Over perhaps a 10-yr period I've installed well over a hundred of these devices in a wide variety of desktop PC cases. The failure rate is virtually nil - certainly not more than 1% to 3% in my experience.
An enormous advantage of this mobile rack is that unlike most HDD/SSD mobile racks that I've come across, the SNT-125B (aka Athena Power 125B) model is equipped with an ON-OFF switch (button), a most desirable feature in my opinion. Assuming a user is working with multiple removable hard drives in their mobile racks (or have also installed a fixed internally-connected hard drive), it's a simple matter to press a button and ("on-the-fly") temporarily disable one or more of the mobile rack's hard drives without the need of using the rack's lever to remove the rack's tray (caddy) containing the HDD from the rack's internal SATA power/data connectors.
Of course should the user choose to do so it's a relatively simple matter to press the lever's release button and physically disconnect the disk from the tray's SATA data/power connectors by using the rack's lever to release (pull out) the tray from the rack.
Because of this rack's ON-OFF power button switch there's no need for a keylock mechanism that's found on virtually every other mobile rack. I've always found these keylocks to be a decided annoyance in the day-to-day operation of a PC.
The rack contains a small fan that is dead silent in operation.
I've never encountered a single problem with the mobile rack's solid plastic construction. It's a sturdy piece of equipment in my experience. As far as I'm concerned its light weight is a decided plus.

Cons: Unfortunately this mobile rack is designed to only house a 3 1/2" hard drive in its removable tray. It's not designed to house a SSD (2 1/2"). Like many users we're continually switching over to SSDs and pretty much phasing out our 3 1/2" HDDs.
We've been able to install our SSDs in the removable trays by using hard foam inserts (the kind of foam usually found in packaging materials) and so far they've worked pretty well. Heavy-duty packaging tape is another option. But it would be so much more desirable for the device to be designed so that it could accommodate both 2 1/2" & 3 1/2" drives. Judging from the current design of the removable tray it would appear that it would be a relatively simple manufacturing modification of the tray to allow the installation of either size drive.

Other Thoughts: I noticed at least one user's comment that this SNT mobile rack is not fully compatible with SATA III drives. We have found no difference in SATA III HDD/SSD data transfer rates either when the drives were directly connected to a motherboard's SATA III connector or to the SNT mobile rack's data connector.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bay rack.

Pros: Easy installation, has front power button, led status light and an internal fan.

Cons: Not really a con but max speed is Sata II, and I didnt buy more.

Other Thoughts: This works great to make swapping drives a breeze and Ive been using this primarily for backup purposes; saving and restoring system images to and from this drive and to quickly test and recover data from other hard drives.

5 out of 5 eggsNice surprise

Pros: Easy installation. You can quickly and easily swap drives. Quality is above average for the price.

Cons: I didn't buy more.

Other Thoughts: Great where extra security may be needed allowing the hard drive to be placed in a safe.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap, Reliable, Self-Cooling Hot Swap Drives

Pros: I love these things! I bought two for my kid's system (one for the main drive and one for the backup drive) and they work like a charm! Fully Hot-swappable, their own molex powered, switchable fan system, separate drive power switch and indication, locking hot swap arm, multiple mount holes...these things have everything!

Cons: None. I'm going to buy them for every system I build!

5 out of 5 eggsRemovable Hard Drive Kit

Pros: I've only had them for less than 24hrs and I can already tell they're perfect. The fan does not add any noticeable noise to my desktop. It fit perfectly into my 5.25" bay with no fuss. For $12, this is an amazing price. I wish I had more 5.25" bays to fill them up with these.

Cons: The molex connector is what I would consider to be upside down - The straight edge is on top and the semi-rounded corners are on bottom. If you've ever connected a molex you'll know what I'm talking about. It took about 30 minutes of trying to jam the connector into the socket in a dark, cramped case that I finally tried turning up upside down.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these to relocate my 3.5 inch drives after removing the hard drive cage in my case. After looking around at all different types of hot swap and hard drive coolers, I decided on this one. Have not been disappointed yet. Installation was simple, THERE IS A POWER BUTTON - make sure you press the power button on the front or your drive will not spin. It does what it was intended to do, nothing more, nothing less. I did not realize that these had fans in them until after I ordered them. I was somewhat concerned about the added fan noise that I almost cancelled the order. As I said in the pro's section, there is no noticeable fan noise coming from these things.
