1 out of 5 eggsCustomer Service??

Pros: Great cage, I have used this product in over 225 machines in the last year with no issues

Cons: Something has changed in this product in the last month. Have called Sunnytek twice a day for the last two weeks, and emailed multiple times. Have received no response to the multiple messages I have left with them. About to RMA the 20 of these I have sitting on my shelf since I cannot put anymore than 1 hard drive into them at any given time. Perhaps this stinging review will get a response.... doubt it.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps you should get more phone lines since your lines "are all busy" - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And probably better email servers, since you can't respond to emails either

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but could be better

Pros: Good price
Replaceable fan
Worked the first time with most drives I tried

Cons: Some WD drives weren't recognized at first. I had to roll up some paper and stick it between the door and the drive in order to push the drive a little further in so that it would make better contact with the connector

Other Thoughts: Using this with a PERC 5/i on a desktop. The desktop is already pretty loud, so the fan noise isn't an issue.

Also, sometimes the doors won't latch at first if the adjacent doors are also open. Make sure it is centered, as this happens because the door isn't lined up with where the latch grabs the side.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Sturdy enough. Drives slide into unit without the need for individual trays. Cooling fan. Good Price.

Cons: Cooling fan is a bit loud, but it's not that big a deal.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic.

Pros: We're using this for nightly and weekly backups, so drives are pushed in and removed quite frequently. It has not been a problem whatsoever.

Cons: None I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Great space-saving, reliable product.

4 out of 5 eggsA little too cheap

Pros: Easy to install. Powers three drives using only two Molex connectors. Stays cool.

Cons: I own both SNT SAC2131TL (this trayless version) and SAC2131B (tray version). Trust me when I say that you should definitely spend a few extra bucks and get the tray version. The 50mm fixed-speed fan on the trayless is LOUD LOUD LOUD. The tray version has a much more sensible 80mm variable-speed fan, and it's obviously better constructed overall.

Other Thoughts: The main reason I tried this TL version is that I didn't want the annoying blue LEDs of the SAC2131B. These days, it seems like every single component comes with excessive blue LEDs. By the time you assemble a complete system, the entire thing is glowing blue. Unfortunately, now that I have tried the TL model, my third purchase will be going back to SAC2131B. The glow is a little annoying, but not nearly as annoying as the TL's fan.

4 out of 5 eggsWonderful for booting into GPARTED or whatever and wiping/partitioning/cloning drives

Pros: It works and I haven't had any IO connection issues so far.

Cons: Eject mechanism is a little weak sauce. Feels like it will break if you try and force it to eject on first pull. Wiggle it back and forth a little more each time and the drive will pop out. I think it will last if you treat it nice.

Other Thoughts: Wonderful for booting into GPARTED or whatever and wiping/partitioning/cloning drives. Great price.

1 out of 5 eggsBad eject mechanism

Pros: Inexpensive trayless backplane.

Cons: Gears stripped on the eject arm on second eject. Inexcusable.

Other Thoughts: If you only need to eject a drive one time, this may be useful. The bottom 2 eject fine (so far). Going to RMA/see if Newegg will send me a new eject arm/face piece.
