5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Best price on this is NEWEGG !! Includes screws. Stamped edges not razor sharp. Very adaptable - mounts for two slim CD/DVD or 1 CD/DVD and 1 hard drive.

Cons: Required some "adjustment".

Other Thoughts: Con = had to adjust (enlarge) bottom opening to prevent tray from binding. Scrape with X-acto or similar for perfect fit.
IDE adapter boards were the bigger problem. Install the drives in the bracket BEFORE attaching the adapter boards. Use electrical tape on the back of the drive to prevent possible shorts. Also needed washers on one (of 4) as the spacers on the boards weren't all the same thickness. DO NOT overtighen the adapter board attaching screws.
SATA adapters presented no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bracket

Pros: This is awesome exactly what i needed and wanted. it fits the Slim DVD RW with space to spare for ssd, hd, or extra slim tray. Awesome construction and holes line up perfectly.
i would suggest this to anyone looking to conserve space

Cons: About the hardest thing about this bracket is that you would need a long skinny Philips tip screw driver to get to some of the holes

Other Thoughts: I'm a computer tech and have built around a hundred computers now and for my mini itx HTPC application this is what i needed. I put a slim DVD on the bottom and a slim 120 mm silent fan to exaust any extra heat out the top

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed again

Pros: None

Cons: This tray had no pre-drilled mounting holes which would fit my 1TB Seagate Barracuda or the standard racks in my PC. I bought this tray only because the Mobile removable HDD tray purchased prior from you had a bad circuit/connector board onto which the SATA data cable would not securely lock. My PC would not see the HD installed into the mobile tray, while it saw it just fine connected outside of the computer. I started to re-drill the latter-ordered tray, but decided instead to remove the connector/circuit board form the otherwise much nicer mobile tray, got out my Dremel tool and modified the plastic back end of the mobile tray so the cable could reach the Barracuda and now everything works just fine. It cost too much to return either tray so I'll trash the last-ordered and use the modified one even though it no longer functions as a truly removable tray without opening the PC and disconnecting the HD's cables,

Other Thoughts: You folks should have your tech folks check out what you sell and never substitute product orders without the purchaser's permission.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed

Pros: This thing is a Gem really, really solid construction and removable vent at the bottom face to mount a slim drive either at the top or bottom on the bay. I am running a Cooler Master N200 case I'm prepping for a custom water loop and I need all the space I can get. Luckily I found this guy so I can still mount a slim BD/DVD drive and slide a nice 3.5" 1TB drive in the same bay for a portable pc.

Cons: This thing came wrapped with a plastic coating that needed peeled off before I mounted it. It's nice that it keeps the steel from being tarnished but a major pain to get into the small spots to peel this semi sticky coating off. Still not worth losing an egg over as I couldn't have done my particular build with anything else.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I was looking for

Pros: Everything fit perfectly. Multiple possible component configurations.

Cons: Need to remove the whole bracket first, before rearranging the contained drives. No big deal.

Other Thoughts: I have a shuttle xpc, and space for components is very limited. In order to use 3.5" slot for card reader, I put optical drive and boot SSD in this bracket.

I didn't find many choices for slim optical drive, but it's no longer a heavily used component in today's computers.

5 out of 5 eggsVersatile and stylish bay.

Pros: Really nice high quality build. Looks great in my CM Elite 120 case. Really maximizes all the space which is important in a MITX build. I also had room for a mod on the bottom of the right side for an IR receiver from a CIR header on my Asrock Z68M-ITX-HT. The front cover for the non-ODD portion fits perfectly, (one of my concerns from the previous reviews here) I just removed one of the black "slats" to ensure a good line of site for the remote receiver and cut a small piece of plexiglas and siliconed it in. This is perfect for my build and really looks fantastic. I really couldn't could have found a better 5.25" bay converter for my needs!

Cons: I really can't think of one bad thing to say about this.

Other Thoughts: This bay adapter really made a huge difference in the HTPC build I just finished. By being able to put all of my ODD and SSD drives in this bay, I have kept the hard drive bay mostly clear from obstructions for the front fan and increased cooling in my case. Also having an easy area to install my IR receiver with very little modification, saved me a lot of work and effort and to top it off, it looks fantastic. It's nice to find something that not only is so highly functional, but also looks great doing it. I am really pleased with this little bay and I highly recommend it. As usual Newegg got it too me in 2 days for no shipping cost or tax, gotta love that.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Way to Keep an ODD in your System

Pros: *NOTE: I didn't get this from Newegg, but from a Nation-Wide Retailer M-Center

I have been looking for a way to mount an optical drive in my latest build, which is in an NZXT Switch 810 (white). Like most recent cases, it's only equipped with a few 5.25 bays (4), which is almost the perfect amount unless you are water cooling, like myself.
I have an XSPC Single-5.25 Bay Reservoir (as well as an EK Multi Option X2 150 Advanced Res), and my MCP35X pump is connected directly to the bay res courtesy of a Bitspower 90deg Single-Rotary Adapter and Male-Male Coupler. The Res is in the second-from-the-top bay, while the top bay holds a BitFenix Hydra Property 5ch 30W/ch Fan Controller.
The way the pump fit, it leaves about 1.75mm between its base and the top of a full-sized DVD-R/W drive. This is somethingof a pproblem, as the PCB of theDDC pumps are kknown to get very hot, so I have the Swiftech heatsink and an 80x15mm fan to use to reduce the temps from 65-70C to just 30C. However, a full-size ODD prevents their use.

I managed to get a few LG/Hitachi Slim DVD-R/W drives from some Optiplex 980's I have lying around, and they are the perfect way to solve this problem. Unfortunately, slim drives don't line up properly with regular mounting holes, requiring an adapter.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the best mounting option, and I have had/tried every available bracket.

This Bytecc unit is by far my favorite.

It is very sturdy and we'll built, comes with 4 different sets of mounting screws, has a good black finish, and can be configured in a number of ways.

I have personally been able to set it up as follows:
- 1x (slim) ODD Top or Bottom
- 2x ODDs
- 1x ODD + 1x 3.5" HDD
- 1x ODD + 1x 2.5" HDD/SSD
- 1x ODD + 2x 2.5" HDD/SSD (using a 1x3.5 to 2x2.5 adapter)

In everycconfiguration, it is flawless.

I would recommend this to anyone!

Cons: The empty slot cover is ventilated, which is good and bad. It's good because it allows for airflow to reach the installed drives, but aesthetically it is a bit out of place. I would have very much preferred to have both a solid and a slotted oneincluded.

Other Thoughts: Since I have an XSPC EX420 radiator up top (using 6x Bgears Blasters 140mm fans push-pull), I can't use the top optical drive bay for anything besides a fan controller.
Since I have an Alphacool NeXXos UT60 240 rad in the bottom (with 4x Koolance 120x25mm 2600rpm fans push pull), I lost the bottom drive cage, reducing capacity to 3x 3.5" bays.

I am a storage junkie, andwwhile this system is not intended to be rrunning a large number ofhard ddrives, as I have a home server (with an LSI 16port PCIe 3.0 x8/x16 RAID Controller Card with 4GB DDR3-1333 Cache and a BBU) running 8x 4TB RE4's in RAID6 and 8x VelociRaptor 1TB's in RAID0 (backed up to a pair of 4TB Hitachi drives), I still like to have extra space for an extra drive or two without having to go external.

This unit not only allowed me to save space by using a Slim DVD drive, but also provided room for either a ssingle extra 3.5 or two 2.5 drives. This is perfect, as I am adding a pair of Momentus XT 750GB Hybrid Drives (8GB SLC NAND) in RAID0, which can both now fit in one slot while allowing me to keep my two 3.5" drives (WD BLUE 1TB WD10EZEX, WD VelociRaptor 1TB) and both my Samsung 830 256GB SSD and the 64GB SSD I use ffor "write dumping" in the main HDD cage. Further more, I still have the room to add at least 3 2.5" SSDs via Velcro mounting, which would free up space for another 3.5" or allow me to add a second pair of Momentus XT's for either a second array or to make one giant 4-drive RAID0 that can push 700MBs+!

This is an excellent product, and I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 eggsBYTECC Bracket-535

Pros: Installed in my In-Win Micro ATX SFF case with a TSST slimline DVD-RW Drive and a WD Scorpio HD. All went in good and everything fit.

Cons: Had to cut my DVD drive's faceplate slightly to get it to open and close properly.

5 out of 5 eggsBytecc Braket

Pros: Better than Expected
Easy Install
2 BD/DVD/CD drive easily slip in (all holes lineup 2)
Bottom cover slips in or out for 1 or 2 drive install
Htpc compatible.

Cons: Front plate has notched plastic holders which is a little hard to remove. Could break the arm during R&R. I sprung the case a little to facilities R&R. You have 4 arms and 4 screws holding the front plate. I would thing the added notched arm holder is an over kill. And could cause arm breakage

Other Thoughts: Much Much better than I thought. I don't know what the other reviewers were talking about screw holes not matching up!
Both drive bay screw holes match my drives perfectly
