5 out of 5 eggsFits Perfectly into bay for Thermaltake Level 10

Pros: Fits perfectly into the slide bay of a Thermaltake Level 10. This means that the pins line exactly to where they should to mimic a 3.5" form factor HD. Very sturdy and easy install.

Cons: Expensive for what it does, but craftsmanship seems fantastic.

Other Thoughts: Bought 2 of them with a 20% off promo, 1 allowed for a MIR. Made the price worth it. Both are very sturdy...can't get over how solid these feel.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: Great construction, very sturdy. Drive runs cool. Hitachi 750 gb drive runs about 78F.

Cons: Small nit pick, the springs that hold the drive down are to strong. They make the lid stick up a little and make a tight fit in my removable bay. Not worth an egg off.

Only other complaint, they never go on sale!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nifty!

Pros: *Case is very Sturdy and worth the money
*Does what it says
*Use it for my Crucial 128GB SSD
*No problems so far
*If your on the fence don't think twice and just purchase this item.

Cons: It was a BIT too expensive if you ask me. 30 bucks for an internal enclosure. Really?
Other than that s**ts cash man.

Other Thoughts: I went to the Infotech in my neighborhood looking for an alternative internal SSD enclosure. When I told the employee what I was looking for he rudely told me there was no such thing. I was glad to find this product on NewEgg and thanks to the awesome customer service was able to purchase this with much ease.

5 out of 5 eggssturdy SSD enclosure for desktop hot swap mount

Pros: Dimensionally accurate enclosure. SSD is placed inside ICY DOCK with data port oriented to meet with corresponding terminals of enclosure. Closing the lid slides the SSD effortlessly into position to engage the pins of the ICY DOCK. The ICY DOCK lid has a positive engagement latch when closed and has a push-button release.

My desktop case has hot swap bays for 3.5" drives, necessitating the use of an adapter that has the same dimensions and external screw holes as an internal hard drive. An aluminum bracket is fastened to the ICY DOCK/SSD, then the assembly slides into the hot swap bay and engages the SATA and power terminals of a back plane in the case.

Everything worked as it should on the first try. Nice product!

Cons: No negative comments at this time. The quality of the metal ICY DOCK enclosure was worth the premium price for the product.

Other Thoughts: I almost removed the clear plastic strip situated inside of the ICY DOCK, but after first inserting the SSD I realized that the plastic strip was a simple aid to remove the SSD if you choose to do so. Leave the plastic strip inside and place the SSD on top of it. The strip does not affect operation of the SSD or ICY DOCK.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Has exact dimensions of a standard 3.5" drive.
Drive installation is tool-free
Has ventilation slots
Works fine with a Crucial M4 SATA SSD in a Chenbro hot-swap cage

Cons: Make sure you don't try to put your 2.5" drive the wrong way
Maybe the tool-free design makes it too easy to install the 2.5" drive upside-down?

Other Thoughts: Wanted to add an SSD to my system. Problem is, I have a Chenbro case with a Chenbro hot-swap bay, so it needs 3.5" drives. Found this converter, and it does the trick. Dimensions of the converter are identical to 1 3.5" hard drive, including location of SATA ports, so all I had to do was slide in the SSD, mount the adapter into my hot-swap sled, and go. Does the trick, which is all I can ask.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I wanted

Pros: Beautifully designed and nicely manufactured.
Easy to use.
All metal.
Lovingly crafted in the mysterious east.

Cons: Pricey - one could buy an entry-level PC case for the cost of this converter.

Other Thoughts: I love Icy Dock products. I have a FW800 3.5" External HDD enclosure with extra removable trays that I have been using to back up my Macbook Pro for many years. This converter allows me to use 2.5" drives in my old enclosure (which is compatible with every machine I have) for a fraction of the cost of a new 2.5" FW800 enclosure. Just push a button, lift the lid, and the drive lifts up into your hand.

5 out of 5 eggsThe one to choose

Pros: Simple, efficient, vented, capable of housing various thicknesses, screwless, works with all of my 3.5 inch ejectable drive bays adapters. Out of all of the alternatives, this one exceeds the combined pro's of all others in its category. The push button lid is a nice addition.

Cons: For some reason the activity light doesn't function on the Kingwin 1000 drive bay adaptor when you use this caddy with a SSD. The HDD activity light on the system board still functions flawlessly, so for those of us HT folks, one less blinking light is actually a pro, and not a con, so maybe I'm mislabeling this issue when it is actually a plus.

Other Thoughts: This is my first post after 10 years purchasing computer components from Newegg. This adaptor is the perfect solution for incorporating a SSD in the place of a standard SATA HDD. Now if only I can find a SSD that doesn't fail in the first 48 hours of use - a different issue for another post.
