5 out of 5 eggsPerfect fit

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: Fits flush in one of the 5 and 1/4 slots in the top of the CM 690 II Advanced. Receives plenty of rushing incoming air thanks to the exhaust fans at the rear top of the case - to keep the two 2.5 inch SSDs and the 3.5 inch device (dual USB 2.0 & 3.0 port adaptor) nice and chill. More durable plastic than I originally thought it would be.

Cons: $9 hunk of plastic, which manages to look attractive in front of my case.

Other Thoughts: Clever use of space afforded by using this simple yet elegantly designed plastic bay adapter.

4 out of 5 eggsMust Have for anyone with a SSD

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: + Easy to Install
+ Holds 3 Drives! (1x 3.5" & 2x 2.5")
+ Versatile
+ Looks Nice on Outside
+ Supports 3.5" bay Devices
+ Affordable

Cons: - Cheap Plastic Construction

Other Thoughts: Very, very easy to install and use. It saves space and is, in my opinion, a better alternative to buying any other converter (Like 3.5" to 2.5") because it houses 3 drives instead of 1 or 2.

Must have for anyone buying an extra drive that is unsure where to house it.

3 out of 5 eggs3.5" HDD got too Hot

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: This adapter is good quality.

Cons: The 3.5" hard drive in this adapter is about 8 to 12 degree hotter than in the normal 3.5" HDD bay. I had tried two hard drives (WD 2TB and Seagate 1TB) in this thing. The WD was running at 47 degree. The Seagate was at 40 degree. The drives were still working fine, but I wasn't comfortable about it. They are 34 and 31 degree in the normal 3.5" HDD bay. I haven't tried 2.5" SDD. I'd think they will get hot, too.

Other Thoughts: I guess the 2.5" SDD might be OK with additional 10 degree. But, don't put the 3.5" HDD in there.

5 out of 5 eggsDid the Job, only needed a couple of weeks

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: Does exactly what it says. Accommodates two 2.5" drives and one 3.5" drive. Easy to install.

Cons: 2.5 Drive bays are a little flimsy, but this may have just been because I was swapping out 2.5" drives all day with this adapter.

Other Thoughts: Works and does exactly what it says and can't argue with the price.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: Yes, the material is cheap. However, it does what it should and, if handled properly, won't break.

Cons: None. I got more than I expected from such an inexpensive 5.25 tray adapter.

Other Thoughts: If you like your computer case's aesthetics, this is not the product for you. The tray was designed to take the place of a cd/dvd rom. That means having a protrusion in the front of the case (you have to remove a 5.25 slot cover to make it fit). Several people have talked about drilling their own holes so that it can mount further back. I got lucky with my case's configuration (Corsair 250D) and didn't have to drill new holes.

5 out of 5 eggsSlick design.

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: Have a case with no way to mount drives (see comments on the bad mounting system on the defunct? Antec Lanboy case). Needed to mount a HDD and a SSD. Voila. Room for my 1TB HDD and two SDD's. Read/observe the design sheet as I had initially neglected. Did have an extra slot for a front mounted 5 1/4" front drive. A nice feature is that one of the pieces can be used to cover the front hole if your 3.5" HDD is to be mounted as non-swappable. Nothing fancy here. No gold plating. This adapter just fits the bill completely. Have not noticed any heat issues with the drives. Love it when companies see a niche product hole they can fill with a simple but effective solution.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsUseful

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: - Easily re purpose 5.25 bay to install additional hard drives.
- Mounts easily and fits standard 5.25 bay.

Cons: - The front facing material is what I would call "brushed plastic". The manufacturer tries to give it a "brushed metal" look. However, the color is a bit too light and does not match my Airsick 300 case.

Other Thoughts: - This is a very useful addition.
