5 out of 5 eggsSlick design.

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: Have a case with no way to mount drives (see comments on the bad mounting system on the defunct? Antec Lanboy case). Needed to mount a HDD and a SSD. Voila. Room for my 1TB HDD and two SDD's. Read/observe the design sheet as I had initially neglected. Did have an extra slot for a front mounted 5 1/4" front drive. A nice feature is that one of the pieces can be used to cover the front hole if your 3.5" HDD is to be mounted as non-swappable. Nothing fancy here. No gold plating. This adapter just fits the bill completely. Have not noticed any heat issues with the drives. Love it when companies see a niche product hole they can fill with a simple but effective solution.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsUseful

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: - Easily re purpose 5.25 bay to install additional hard drives.
- Mounts easily and fits standard 5.25 bay.

Cons: - The front facing material is what I would call "brushed plastic". The manufacturer tries to give it a "brushed metal" look. However, the color is a bit too light and does not match my Airsick 300 case.

Other Thoughts: - This is a very useful addition.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works. It's cheap.

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: It does as advertised, and they did think it through a bit. Because it does open your case to the outside world, they included a bit you can snap off and put into place as a dust cover to keep stuff out. I do not know if it will block a 3.5" drive when it's in place, but I cannot fathom as to why they wouldn't just put it in place to begin with.
It is very nice that I can put a 3.5" drive, and 2 2.5" drives in a typically unused 5.25" bay. That is pretty cool.

Cons: Primary thing is, it's pretty flimsy. The 2.5" drive bays don't "snap" drives into place. There is a spring to supply tension to the SSD, but the clip that ultimately holds the drive in from the back isn't really sturdy. It will do the job ultimately, but I was expecting a more durable construction. I guess I was just expecting too much for under 10 bucks.
Dust cover is an afterthought, kinda silly.
I wish I had noticed this before, but without drilling new holes in it (which I'll probably do), you cannot have this thing concealed within the case of the computer. The default holes result in it being in the same position as a CD drive, so it sticks out the front of your case. You'll need to remove a 5.25" bay cover off your front panel to use it.

Other Thoughts: It will likely just carry the one SSD for me most of the time. My case has a place you can screw the SSD directly onto a platform, but it was too far away to use the same power SATA cable as my CD drive. This allowed me to save routing another SATA power cable from the PSU all the way at the bottom to the top, or somewhere else, just for the SSD. In that regard, it was worth a ton to me.

I'm probably going to take it apart and try to drill new holes in it so I can have it deeper within the case, and not sticking out the front like an optical drive would. There's no need for it to be 'accessible' from the exterior.

3 out of 5 eggsNot the perfect fit, but fulfills my need

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do.

Cons: Doesn't really fit perfectly into my case. I take caution when I insert a card to the card reader I'm using it for because it keeps on moving.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: this is an excellent, cheap way to add storage to a system
that is getting filled up. Two 2.5 HDD/SSDs on top, one 3.5 HDD (or SSD) on bottom. It all fits into a 2.5 bay which most desktop/stations have at least one free. Just a neat design to cheaply add more storage drives - love it.

Cons: not really a con, but you might have to fiddle a bit depending upon the case you own - to be expected.

Other Thoughts: used it to add three HDDs to my system

5 out of 5 eggsSimplistic Function

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: Mounted two ssd's in a raid0. Placed my optical drive and both ssd's withing range of each other so I only had to use one sata power cable for all 3 devices. Simplistic design with excellent function.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend for anyone wanting a compact build.

5 out of 5 eggsFlexible adapter

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: Allowed me to fill up an unused optical drive bay in an matx case that I'm using for an NAS with a boot drive and an HDD dedicated for music. The matx drive bays will be used for 4 or 6 TB drives to hold my video. Still leaves an extra 2.5" slot for a future SSD.
Sturdy as plastic can be and the price is right. Should have looked for something like this earlier.

Cons: No front plate to cover the lower opening if you use the 3.5" bay for an HDD. Didn't take any eggs off for this, since this is something I'd like to have had and wasn't anything missing. No room on the sides to use the front plates that came with the case. Kinda sucks that I'll have to fashion some sort of cover.

Other Thoughts: The 2.5" bays are slide ins with a springed plastic tab to hold in place. No screw holes. Seems like it should hold a drive securely for quite a while, but I put an SSD in the slot and I'm not really worried if it eventually slides around.

5 out of 5 eggsBest 3.5" to 5.25" I know.

This review is from: ICY DOCK FLEX-FIT Trio MB343SP 2 x 2.5” HDD/SSD to 5.25” Adapter/Bracket with 1 x 3.5” Device/Drive Bay

Pros: You can't go wrong with this. Being able to add 2 x 2.5" storage drives per unused 5.25" bay is revolutionary.

Works great in my CM Elite 130 case by replacing the 2 x 2.5" mounting area in it's 5.25" bay.

Cons: -None

Other Thoughts: Bring these into Canada for faster cheaper shipping, pl0x.
