4 out of 5 eggsWorks great... but the screws...

Pros: Perfect way to get extra use out of the spare bay in my PC case. When closed the sides of the drawer are close to the solid top of the shell so if you transport your case with goodies inside it isn't likely that they'll slip out or jam up the drawer.

Cons: Designed to have coarse screws tap directly into plastic. If you've got a case like mine (old AOpen A600 that I will take with me to my grave) that uses custom screws for toolless insertion/removal of drives you'll need to be careful getting them threaded. As other reviewers noted I would expect even the supplied screws to be difficult to get threaded for the first time. The only reason for 4 eggs instead of 5 was the screw issue.

Other Thoughts: This went into my case without much issue. When I realized I was going to need to use different screws than the ones provided I approached handling this carefully. I had to use the fine thread screws like you would use on an optical drive to get this mounted in my case due to the "shoulder bolts" that my case is designed to accept. The first screw was difficult to start but did go in eventually. For the later screws I first used the center point of a spade drill bit (probably about a 25° angle point) to slightly taper the insertion side of the holes BY HAND. I only wanted to remove just enough material to help the screw threads get their initial bite, using a power drill likely would have been difficult to control. This helped the last 3 screws go in a lot easier. For those using the supplied screws this would probably help as well, just be careful with how much plastic you remove as if you remove too much you can't go back. If Evercool wanted to take this to the next level I'd recommend either molding in threaded metal inserts for the screws (in standard 5-1/4" optical drive screw size/thread) or switching to at least either having the bottom portion of the tray be metal or run a tap through the current plastic holes during manufacturing. If I had a tap in the size that I needed that is what I would have used instead of brute-forcing the screws to thread.

I may see about finding a short and lightweight spring (1" diameter probably) to glue to the back of either the drawer or shell. This would help to give the drawer a little more push on open. The current push from the spring loaded retaining clip is pretty good but a little more would be nice.

The gloss black matches my case perfectly but yeah it won't be for everyone. No less of a fingerprint magnet than the rest of my case. :)

Now I'm going to check to see if they've got a 3-1/2" version!

3 out of 5 eggsI got the screws to fit eventually...

Pros: Well, it's a box and it hold things. The tray at the top is nice.

Cons: As other reviewers have stated, the screws/screw holes leave much to be desired. Either the screws are too big or the holes too small. It was a huge pain trying to screw them in, but in they did eventually go (albeit with some screw stripping and cussing along the way). Took 20 minutes to do what should have been a 2 minute job. The unit is also flimsy but that problem goes away once it is in place. I also wish there was a knob or handle on the front. Might be making a run to the hardware store to grab one to glue to the front.

Other Thoughts: Make sure that this unit is completely level in the computer case. If it is even off by a hair (more than the wiggle room of the screws), it may not close properly.

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Cheap
Works
You can not tell that it is installed in most cases

Cons: The screws received were not correct, otherwise it would have been a 5 egg item. 1 egg loss because of screws and 1 egg almost because it's made very cheaply but still ~$18. I mean I really do like it but it seems to be made so cheaply the price seems a little high. But then again most anyone has wasted at least ~$18 on a dinner they didn't really like at some point.

Other Thoughts: No doubt I would buy it again, it is a very nice item even at full price, but it is made cheaply. I think it would be nice if they offered a slightly higher quality version of this. The same look etc but metal would be nice.

2 out of 5 eggsIncluded screws doesn't fit ...

Pros: Push to open

Cons: Included screws doesn't fit... nor does any for that matter

Other Thoughts: It's just hanging loose inside the case because no screws are small enough to thread the hole unless you want to take the time to do that. Horrible design to make the holes too small and to include screws that are too big.

3 out of 5 eggsEhh. it's Okay

Pros: It's a nifty storage place my my USB sticks

Cons: Front panel is a dust magnet and a fingerprint one as well. It should have been a matte finish. Does not sitt 100% well in my FT02 case. The box is deper than an Optical drive and I can't seat it fully because it hits my MoBo.

Other Thoughts: Nothing high tech. it's just a storage box. It's not very well made either.

Pros: Flush with my case (ThermalTake Versa G1).
Its Black!
Made of plastic, but of a quality kind.

Cons: Cons? What cons....there isnt any!

Other Thoughts: Recommended! Flush with the case and you would never know its there.

Looks cool!

5 out of 5 eggsLove this thing

Pros: It's sleek, can't tell its installed. spring opening.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I use this on an old case. Perfect for holding small items such as usb drives, screws, or anti-static wrist band. It matches perfectly with the case. You can't even tell which slot I have in installed in till you push on it and the spring pops it out.

2 out of 5 eggsIt's Okay.

Pros: Stores flashdrives and other things, Looks just like another 5.25 panel so it could take nosy people a bit of time to figure out its a drawer. Glossy finish was nice.

Cons: Screw Holes don't align well, Really cheap and flimsy feeling. It could be cheaper.

Other Thoughts: Wait for a sale if any.
