4 out of 5 eggsNice SSD drive tray.

Pros: Solid, metal SSD drive tray.

Cons: Minor issue; the diameter of the threaded mounting holes on the sides were a tad bit too small for the locating pins on the tool-less drive bay slides used in my Antec case. Had to drill the tray mounting holes out with a 7/64" bit to get the slide pins to fit in the holes. Not hard since I had a drill press available. You could do it (carefully) with a handheld drill.

Other Thoughts: It is installed now and I don't foresee any future issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: All metal and includes screws.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Super shiny, so if you are going for a stealth look you might need some black paint.

5 out of 5 eggsSilverstone SDP08

Pros: Excellent item for the price. Worth the extra 200 pennies to get it made of metal not flimsy plastic.

Cons: Small screw holes to mount - just personal issue.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Sturdy, screws included, packaged well, good design.

These are nicely made with a heaver steel than others I have used in the past. Screws were also included unlike some others. The packaging is secure and prevents damage from handling/shipping. The 2.5" mounting points are placed so that the connector edge hangs just over the adapter, allowing plugs to be easily and neatly installed with no issues. Buy and make your own SATA power connectors to avoid having to bend the wire very tightly and stress the HD connector.

Cons: Price.... You do get what you pay for, but I didn't think it was *quite* worth $8.

It would have been nice to have a bit more room to get the screws into the HD. I had to use tweezers and a lot of patience to get them in.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the one to get!

Pros: Made of steel the same thickness as reasonably good quality computer cases (1 mm). This adapter is nickel plated and it's built to last, unlike some other 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch HDD adapters. Some other adapters are made of plastic or are thin, flimsy metal. The outer fastener holes of this adapter take coarse threaded computer case screws (aka bolts). Those are THE SAME FASTNERS THAT 3.5 inch HDDs TAKE. That means that wherever you can put a 3.5 inch HDD you can put this adapter.

Cons: It might cost a bit more. However, as I type this there is a sale on at NewEgg on this part So (at the moment) this one costs less than some other good quality alternatives.

Other Thoughts: This is the one to get. It's a quality product. I was considering the Thermaltake AC0014, but I saw in reviews that the outer fastener holes of that adapter take fine threaded computer case screws. That doesn't work for me because I need to use some proprietary case screws that are coarse threaded that get held in the disk rack only because of their comparatively huge size/shape by yet another proprietary part. -- -- -- --

The SPCC steel that this adapter is made of is generally like standard SECC steel (normal computer case steel), maybe a little higher quality. SPCC is a particular Japanese steel standard for cold rolled, sheet steel. -- -- -- --

I needed this adapter in a hurry after I realized that another adapter that I HAD bought at NewEgg wouldn't work for my particular application. So, I bought a SilverStone SDP08 adapter from another place nearby and paid top dollar. I didn't get the sale price, bummer. That also means that I can't be listed as a "Verified Owner" for this NewEgg review. But I wanted to share the important (to me) info about the coarse threaded outer fastener holes.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat adapters

Pros: Made of metal. Good quality control -- edges are sanded, threads are good.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The metal converters are far superior to the plastic ones. They act as a heatsink for the drive, they will last forever, and they are only slightly more expensive than the standard junk. This is the 2nd on that I've purchased, and these are excellent and for a fair price. Recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsSOLID not flimsy

Pros: This unit holds 2 sdds or 1 with nice gaps for airflow. Perfect size to put in HDD slot in case. SOLID unit with 8 SDD screws and 4 screws to mount bracket. Already bought another for another build. Fit perfect in my Dell Vostro 400

Cons: none.

4 out of 5 eggsSturdy

Pros: Very sturdy
Able to fit 2 2.5" drives in one 3/5 bay

Cons: Access holes for screw driver are too small. A normal sized driver will not fit through. This can make things difficult if you don't have an extension.
