4 out of 5 eggsSolid and works great

Pros: This was exactly what I needed, my computer has decent specs but was just prior to USB 3.0 being standard. I'd made up for that by installing some cards but was starting to miss fast usb in the front. This made it easy to have a couple of front ports and extend the usable life of this computer for me. This could be used by someone who has USB 3.0 headers in their motherboard but also has extra USB 3.0 cards (with internal ports) installed. It installs easily enough, the holes lined up perfectly for me and it's built like a Sherman tank.

Cons: It's not cheap, not even close. But in this case you do get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Not once have I been sorry that I purchased this...

4 out of 5 eggsFP36B USB 3.0 Ports

Pros: Looks great! Does exactly what is expected. I even used 1 on a USB 2.0 Connection and it down-speed to 2.0 specs without any problems. I omitted a 5th Egg ONLY because it must be connected to an existing USB port (which makes this a "Hub").

Cons: Not a true "con" if you bought it to use as a Hub. If you wanted to activate using a Motherboard USB Header, this is NOT the product you wish as it connects via standard USB Type A male plug. I had to do some slight creative arrangements by running the very long FP36B cable to a rear opening (It comes with mounting it's own attractive mounting plate) and connecting the cable to a standard USB port on the rear of my PC. :)

5 out of 5 eggsNice Touch

Pros: Works right out of the box. Plenty of cord so I could go around board and out of sight.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great for bringing an inexpensive box up to speed.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: well built
looks good
works

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Installed this unit and plugged it in, stuck a usb 3.0 in the slot and it appeared on my monitor. I like it and is just what I needed for my motherboard

1 out of 5 eggsShame

Pros: It's a USB3 extension cord, if your mobo doesn't have usb3 headers.

Cons: It has a 1/4" clump of rust on the frame, where the 2.5" disk is supposed to mount. I scraped it with my finger and it came off along with a sharp metal shard. One of the 2 screws that holds the aluminum faceplate is badly stripped and sharp to the touch. The part is unnecessarily large and heavy and the chrome job is awful, for $20 they should do much better.

Other Thoughts: Silverstone seems to cater to people who think that heavy parts are good quality. The aluminum faceplate is pretty but the rest is junk.

4 out of 5 eggsTypical SilverStone quality... and price!

Pros: This thing is built like a tank: solid anodized aluminum front and chrome on the inside. Looks great in my TJ09. Just what you would expect from SilverStone.

Cons: Just what you would expect from Silverstone... expensive!

Other Thoughts: So the list price on this is only $20... I can handle that, but don't forget to add the cost of the adapter cable for another $14 plus shipping. By the time you are done, you've spent $35 just for the privilege of adding a couple of 3.0 ports to the front of your case. You could get the USB 3.0 ports for free with other bundles, but they wouldn't be of the same quality construction. Overall, I'd only buy this if I had a $300 case that I wanted to continue using with the latest technology. Which… I do, so at the end of the day, I can't complain too much (though I probably will anyways!)

3 out of 5 eggsNo Motherboard Interface

Pros: Seems like a solid product; but, I never tried to install it since it will not work with my system.

Cons: I assumed, wrongly, that this front panel interface would connect to my Gigabyte motherboard which has USB 3.0 connections, but no 3.0 jacks on the back panel interface. The product description can be misleading; but, if I had looked very carefully at the pictures, I would have seen what looks like simply extension cords for the USB 3.0. Installing the product requires connecting to USB panel interfaces that already exist on your system, typically from the back panel, with USB extension cords leading out of your computer from the back.

Other Thoughts: I will save this product for another day; since shipping the product back would be a waste of time and money.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Good product, well made and inexpensive. Large diameter high quality cables and connectors. The additional one meter of cable length does not effect speed. This is a very good and easy solution for a motherboard that doesn't have an internal USB 3.0 header. Nifty rear exit for cables.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Now I don't have to climb around to get to the back of my computer to use my USB 3.0 devices!
With time, all computer cases and motherboards will provide for a front panel USB 3.0 connection, however, this is a great workaround.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Hooked it up in a couple minutes to a two internal port Koutech card. Some of the best quality I have seen. Far better than Siig’s, which was a total disaster from day one. Their customer service was even worse. Finally gave up, wrote the $75 off to a lesson learned and trashed it. The combo Koutech card/Silverstone 2 port front panel was $20 cheaper than Siig’s, better quality and so far, not one issue. Really fast and at times, faster than my rear onboard Usb3 ports.

Cons: None so far!

5 out of 5 eggsWYSIWYG

Pros: Does it's job well
Nice construction and finish

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this to hack apart and convert the USB 2.0 ports on the front of my Antec Three Hundred Illusion to USB 3.0. Conversion worked perfectly. Obviously I'm not using the bracket, but it had a very nice finish to it and felt sturdy. The guts perform exactly as one would expect.
