5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Dual SSD

Pros: Comes with everything you need to mount it in a 2.5 format factor slot. Easy install took me 1 minute.

Cons: The plastic handles are something to be wary about. If you're like me though this won't be an issue because you rarely should have to swap drives.

Other Thoughts: Worked out great for my build using the 2.5 slot in a SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum front panel, 0.8 mm SECC body Lascala Series LC20B-M ATX Media Center / HTPC Case.

My build:
1, Intel BOXDZ68BC LGA 1155 Intel Z68
4, Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM (RAID 5)
2, SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256D/AM SSD (RAID 1)
1, Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive (backup)
1, CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
1, High Current Pro HCP-750 750W TX12V v2.3 Power Supply

Running:
Windows Server 2008 R2, MS Exchange 2010, Yosemite Server Backup 9.1
IIS, DHCP, DNS, Etc...

3 out of 5 eggsCheaply built

Pros: Great, while it works

Cons: Outside of warrenty period the plastic pieces that hold one door open broke. The plastic just gave way and the door popped open - I hadn't opened the doors in months before. Cheap manufacturing ...

Other Thoughts: Used this to hold my two SSD drives

5 out of 5 eggsLove It

Pros: Nice looking. Sturdy design. I own four and highly recommend them.

Cons: Doesn't support any 2.5" drives larger than 9mm.

Other Thoughts: Get an SSD for speed and put your OS and Apps on it. Get another 2.5" drive (perhaps a 750GB) and put all your data on it. Put them both in one of these, and you will be a happy person.

Or, if you use Linux, get several with 750GB drives and combine them together using btrfs. Works better than RAID (though still a little immature ATM). Hot swapping is a nice bonus.

3 out of 5 eggsNOT for OCZ SSDs

Pros: Nice looking, good price.

Cons: Works great with most 9mm high drives (see other thoughts).

Other Thoughts: I have tried a WD black 500GB, and an intel 80GB SSD, those worked fine. If you want to put an OCZ SSD in this, forget getting it back out (or having a functional bay afterwards).

OCZ puts their (thick) serial number label on the bottom, right next to the connectors. This lifts the drive (and connectors) up by ~.0045", which makes it a VERY tight fit in the drive bay.

The arm that pushes the drive out when you pull on the closure lever, is cheap/weak plastic, and cannot push the drive out. The plastic arm will break when trying to remove OCZ.

The guide pins on the bay connector has enough tolerance (up and down) to allow for the label, but they put the connectors right up against the floor of the drive bay.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent drive bay

Pros: Holds my two SSD drives for RAID 1 (mirrored) perfectly. Drive activity lights work great. I would definitley buy again. Also, looks great in my Lian-Li case.

Cons: At first it was making me some great breakfasts, but then once I got past the 30 day return period that came to a screeching halt.

Other Thoughts: Awesome drive cage!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: Great product, no problems, although I don't swap out my drives very often.

Cons: Where the hard drives actually make contact (the internal bays) are steel. Would have been better if these were aluminum as well to offer better heat dissipation since there are no fans for ventilation.

Other Thoughts: I've had one of these in two of my shuttle xpc mini-itx cases for the last 3 years. First in the SG33G5, and not in the SH67H3.

5 out of 5 eggsI use two of these, they're great!

Pros: I use two of these in one of my machines. I use one for two Corsair extreme 128GB SSD's and run them in RAID 0 without a hitch. I use the second for two Seagate Hybrid 500GB drives in RAID 0 also without a hitch. I stack both of them in a 5.25" slot below my DVD Burner. They are slightly bigger but my machine allows for the slack and they look great!

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: I love these guys...They look good, run well and the hot swap-ability is great!

3 out of 5 eggsLED Activity Indicator NOT working

Pros: I like EVERYTHING about this unit - except I cannot get the LED Activity Indicator to work. A very solid unit which treats my Crucial CT64M225 SSD with the respect it deserves! It has a great positive locking door latch and a very nice fit. The well ventilated design and heavy metal help to remove heat from my SSD. Opening the door activates a very nice drive eject mechanism. Very cool! While moving a movie in XP through the Syba SATA connection between the SSD listed above and my NAS box I measured very nearly 300Mbps on SSD reads and very nearly 200Mbps on writes – no problem here.

Cons: I can't get the Activity Indicator to work. I re-read all the previous reviews and did not see any that specifically said the Activity LED worked. I tried both bays, I measured the voltage on the special 4 pin in-line LED connector (5V and 12V), wiggled the connector, etc. Looks like there may be two LEDs, one to indicate power and another to indicate activity, but I am not exactly sure. Can anyone comment? Maybe I am doing something wrong. Boy I wish this worked. If it did I would give this unit 5 Eggs!

Other Thoughts: I wish the white "Connectland" front printing was left off the unit. Also, you may want to note that I purchased this unit after returning the SY-MRA25008, which did not work at all for my SSD.
