5 out of 5 eggsPerfection

Pros: This is a slick way to add additional hard drive when you don't have an open bay. Drive just slips in and the spring loaded door snaps shut. To remove drive unsnap the door and the drive slides out. Fit any open card slot. Used mine on a PCI slot and it fit nicely.

Cons: Come with a drive lite which I find useless because it is on the back of my case and you can't see it.

Other Thoughts: Great way to install a SSD drive.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Perfect fit. Mounted nicely close to my MB SATA connectors. Device uses no screw to mount drive. Drive slips in and spring loaded door locks drive in place. Will be a snap to change if needed. Had no problems mounting to PCI slot .

Cons: Not really a con, but needed to add extra fan to increase cooling in lower part of case, .

Other Thoughts: Nice not having to give up a drive slot.

5 out of 5 eggsBriliant

Pros: This is a brilliant tool for tech pros. I can imagine using this for popping in and out SSD's for main rigs or setting up backup using 2.5" drives. Right now, I put this in my main server and plopping in 2.5" drives for Spinrite and Dban to run their magic on them. I wish They came in 3.5" flavors because I would love them even more!

Cons: A little gimicky opening mechanism. I wish it use the PCIe lan for data/power instead of sata power/sata cables. It's a great idea but poorly implemented.

Other Thoughts: I love it. It's exciting

5 out of 5 eggsNice Accessory

Pros: Using one of these in my Shuttle SH67H3 media server so I can put a 4th drive in for storage. Very sturdy and well-made, with no problems getting it installed.

Cons: The door spring is strong enough to automatically eject the drive, which is an issue if it holds the primary system drive (as in my setup). Not enough to knock an egg off, but something to be aware of.

Other Thoughts: It seems the spring can be easily removed or loosened if you don't want the door opening by accident, but I have not tried it myself.

5 out of 5 eggsSSD Bay

Pros: Very well made at an attractive price. Fit and finish is superior; chrome plating and powder coated steel.

LED cabling (which flexes when you open the door) is wrap protected. Comes with it's own power adapter if you want to allow the LED feature (which is rather pointless if it is facing the rear in your setup), but you can ignore it and just run your regular power cable straight to it if you want, instead.

Spring action for drive ejection is very firm and sure.

Cons: An LED pinout to easily route the lamp signal to the front of the PC would have been nice, but it's not really a requirement.

Other Thoughts: Great way to save up a full size drive bay, and/or increase your options when trying to maximize airflow.

Excellent home server solution to enable you to get the most use out of your front HDD storage bays.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for Me

Pros: If you have a spare PCI slot, this unit will provide a place for a (easily removable) drive.

Cons: You'll need an empty PCI connector to securely mount this unit

Other Thoughts: I keep my Win 7 boot drive in this unit. When I clone my Windows 7 to another HDD, I test the new clone to be sure it works. To test the a clone, you must first dissconnect the original boot drive. This unit saves me the trouble of having to open the computer case to dissconnect and reconnect my original drive.

4 out of 5 eggsWonderful unit

Pros: Needed this to add a 6th drive for boot purposes only. I stuck a 2.5" SSD drive Sata II.

Cons: You need to mount this unit in an expansion slot that has a PCI slot there. Unit uses it to support it up. Without it, I'm not sure if it is stable.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should let people know that this unit requires a board with a PCI slot, not a PCIE slot. PCIE slots will not work to support the unit.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job

Pros: - smart design, doesn't take front panel space,
- smooth sliding for the hdd, easy opening and closing
- no driver required
- states indicate light

Cons: - the build quality is not great, have to bend the black plate to insert in the slot.
- MUST use a PCI slot to stabilize it, or it will bend downwards because of gravity.
- if you mind to reach to the back of your case to change a HDD

Other Thoughts: I bought this one because I don't have any space on the front panel and I hate cables from USB laying around. This is generally a good product but you have to make sure your mobo has a empty PCI slot to hold this thing.
