Pros: All in one card reader, with USB ports if you don't already have them up front

Cons: Poor quality. CF socket won't accept cards - the pins actually look flat (instead of round), even with quite a bit of force. Connection cables are extremely bulky, and split between MB header and two USB Type B male connectors. This unit caused a 'USB Hot Plug' error in my ASUS X99-A MB, and a host of other instability issues.

Other Thoughts: I did use the SD & Micro SD readers successfully, but unfortunately by the time I discovered the CF slot wouldn't take cards, Newegg stopped selling this dud, and I can't return it now. I used this reader on a fresh build and it caused all kinds of issues from startup to the file explorer in Windows 10.. once I pulled this garbage out, everything went back to normal.

Pros: Lots of options with USB 3.0 (high speed transfer). It comes with lots of mounting options.

Cons: I haven't found any yet

Pros: Everything seems to work so far.
Install was fairly simple.
Shipping was quicker than expected.

Cons: 2 bright LEDs shine whenever your computer is on and something is plugged into the panel.
The 2 external USB connectors add some bulk, what I don't understand is why they are necessary, the device seems to run fine without them plugged in.

Pros: This thing is awesome, the fact that it has a Micro SD port means you do not need that stupid adaptor that always gets lost...the 3 USB 3 ports perform exactly the way intended I got 2 of them and installed em in My and My Wife's systems...went in very easy the instructions are perfect and concise.

Cons: Not a One

Cons: Needs to have a USB adapter for the motherboard for the USB 2.0 connectors.
The 5.25" adapter is plastic and sits just a little back of the case front panel - not horrible.

Other Thoughts: This comes with a rear slot cover with a cut out to let you put the USB 2.0 connectors out the back of your case. but after reading the reviews I decided to purchase 2 StarTech USB A Female to USB Motherboard 4 Pin Header F/F and it works great on my Asrock Z87 Extreme4 motherboard. This replaced a previously erratic reader. I have tried 3 different brands and sizes of CF cards as well as 4gb through 64gb full size SD cards - reads and writes to all of them. Exactly what I needed.
I won't knock off an egg for a very minor cosmetic fit - no way it will be perfect with all cases made. I also didn't knock off an egg for the USB 2.0 connectors because they did provide a solution that will probably work with a lot of people.
No power adapter needed - just 3 connectors to hook up - nice.

Pros: Has a good mix of interfaces. Good cable length.

Cons: The unit often does not work for SDHC cards. Continually drops connection with system giving sporadic disconnect / connect sounds. It got so bad that I turned off the sound until I had time to address the problem. Not finding any contact information, I am at a loss as to how to fix the problem with a driver upgrade. The only alternatives I believe I have is to either junk it or dig into Win 8.1 USB options.

Pros: Fast; reads most new formats like Micro SD without the need of an adapter; USB 3.0; reliable so far :)

Cons: On top of the USB 3.0 that plug to your motherboard you have to plug in 2 extra normal usb 3.0 to the rear of your computer, I have a Full tower and it the wires barely made it to the back plugs, the fact that it uses 2 of my 4 external usb 3.0 on top of the lone internal 3.0 that I have on my mobo didn`t please me, I wish it would have been only a single plug internal USB 3.0 instead...

Also, it doesn`t come with the usb 2.0 adapter, so if you don`t have a 3.0 plug on your mobo, you will have to buy one.
