Silenced Raptor somewhat

Pros: Silenced my loud grinding 10000rpm raptor.

Cons: Does NOT work with Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000BWS Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower. You will have to tap and thread new holes to mount. Since the screws that come with it are too big for the holes on the 5.25' rack.

Other Thoughts: Other than having to take the time to tap new holes to mount, I think it was worth $30.00

Pros: It significantly quited my 10,000 rpm Raptor

Cons: still hear that slight spin noise from behind enclosure - the rear of it isn't completely sealed - I would suggest going with one that fully encloses the HD - not happy with my temps either - nothing beats having the drive out on the air, sealing it in aluminum doesn't lower temps

Pros: This thing is incredible! I wanted my raptor to run quieter and I didn't care about the temps rising. My temps went down?! I don't believe it but that's what Everest says.

And the silencing! Boy does this thing help! I honestly don't hear the raptor at all now. I have a Thermaltake Armor VA8003SWA and most of my hard drives are mounted in the bays on the front which are open air because of the grills all the way up the case. The pair of Seagate 7200.10's in raid 0 are still in the stock cage and don't make noise but they vibrate the case. I honestly will probably be buying 5 more of these silencers.
