Fast, OC'able, and cheaper than an XBox 360 game!
- Pros: Price - forty-nine dollars for a 64-bit 2.2GHz proc with full speed 512KB cache
Speed - Don't let the 2.2GHz fool you, if you slap this on a good socket 754 board, you're going to get 95% of the speed of the 939 and AM2 users in pretty much everything OCability - Got it running at 2.6GHz at 37C, 2.8GHz at 43C, haven't gone any higher, cause, well, that's plenty
- Cons: I guess if you consider it being Socket 754 a con, then there you go.
OEM, so you takes your chances when it comes to installation and OC'ing. If you fry it up, you're stuck with CPU and chips, there's no warranty for sloppy and stupid.
- Other Thoughts: This 3200+ is the end of an age for a fine generation of CPUs. The benefits of dual channel RAM and DDR2 are small, unnoticeable by the naked eye in most situations. Dual core is nice, but quad is where your next step should be. Until then, you're not going to regret paying less than half a benjamin for such a nice processor.
Great CPU
- Pros: XP Pro x64 is fast and stable with this CPU.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Buy it!

Kinda dissapointed ...
- Pros: Price, speed
- Cons: short life ... lasted 8 months then died
- Other Thoughts: went back to my Sempron 2800+, maybe i had a bad chip but i will still buy AMD. My sempron with 256kb still holds its own. Regardless what others may say a cpu is not the only component that determines system performance. But i will say this, you cant't beat a sub $30 cpu that can run vista
Incredible
- Pros: Incredible Price for Great Quality
When this went on sale, it was a no brainer
- Cons: none
Good Upgrade
- Pros: This is a great upgrade for the money. It came just when it was supposed to thank you newegg:) I plugget it in and it kicked right up and even picked up my over clock i had on my sempron 3100 jumped right in at 2.64 with out so much as a nervous twich.
- Cons: It is socket 754 and a little out of date bout built right can be a powerful system. OEM had a few bent pins (nothing i couldnt fix with a sewing needle) but still a pain
- Other Thoughts: I say go for it good cheap upgrade

Highlights
 |
AMD64 Technology AMD64 technology is designed to enable simultaneous 32- and 64-bit computing with no degradation in performance. With Direct Connect Architecture, AMD64 processors address and help eliminate the real challenges and bottlenecks of system architectures because everything is directly connected to the central processing unit.
|
 |
HyperTransport Technology HyperTransport Technology (HT or HTT) is a high-speed, low latency and point-to-point link designed to increase communication speeds between integrated circuits in computers, servers, embedded systems and networking and telecommunications equipment. HyperTransport Technology in the Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 754 processor enables the speed of system bus up to 1600MHz and delivers up to 6.4GB/s I/O bandwidth and up to 9.6GB/s processor-to-system bandwidth.
|
 |
Enhanced Virus Protection All AMD processors equipped with AMD64 technology are Enhanced Virus Protection-enabled. Enhanced virus protection acts as a preventative measure causing viruses to be localized, short-lived, and non-contagious, eventually being flushed from system memory.
