No Complaints
- Pros: The heart of my first build. Priced right and fast enough for my needs.
- Cons: None that I can see.
- Other Thoughts: Trying to use this CPU with a fanless heatsink arrangement.
Another AMD winner
- Pros: Price and performance combo with AMD is almost always a bargain- and this one runs great for the money - lower 65 watt design translates into longer life and cooler processor temps- runs (much) cooler than the first intel P4 I built. Recently moved from building 939 sockets- I built my first AM2 socket (as well as one for a friend) with this processor and a Gigabyte MB, and as usual I am totally pleased with my AMD processor. I know I can get bigger-faster-hotter-more-expensive, but this thing runs cool and fast at a good price point and its all Ill ever need for my uses, so why give my money to the big "I" if its not necessary? I am sold on AMD for its value and performance and plan to stay with it.
- Cons: Some say the stock AMD heatsink and fan arent too reliable- Ive never had one fail, but I use aftermarket anyway for added reliabliity and virtually silent cooling-
- Other Thoughts: - If you combine a fast cool running chip like this with a better than stock aftermarket cooler, ( in my case the arctic cooling freezer 64 PRO ) the temps stay super low and reliability is excellent.
great cpu
- Pros: great budget cpu, runs really cool 26-30C when idle with stock cooler, beats my roommates e6300 at half the price, amd still rules at this price segment!
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: my system - MSI K9N6GM barebone + this CPU, 2gbs DDR2 800Mhz, 160gbs SATA2, 20x DVD-RW all for under 300bucks
