A+ price:performance
- Pros: Fast , inexpensive, comes with a fan, low idle and load temps, OC'd stable to 2.97 MHz with no voltage bump, no special cooling and no special thermal paste, runs WoW like a champ.
- Cons: K8 a bit long in the tooth and not as good as the latest Intel offerings- but then again, it's not as expensive, either.
- Other Thoughts: I use this in conjunction with XPsp3 (32bit), Asus M3A78-EM, 2Gb of GSkill DDR2 800, and a EVGA 8800GTS KO ACS3 320 OC'd to 655/1660 1900.
price/performance ratio excellent
- Pros: Excellent price for the performance, no complaints there. Factory heatsink works fine for those of us who don't overclock. Comes with a sticker.
- Cons: Not as powerful as the core2 duo's, but for the price I don't care.
- Other Thoughts: I really like the sticker.

works great....
- Pros: I've had this in a custom build that i ordered over a year and a half ago. has ran great and has never given me any grief. Now, i've chaged out most of the rig (except the RAM and CPU), and its still running great. I've played alot of games with this cpu, from Doom3 to LOKI, to the new Wolfenstein and Assassins creed.......I'd buy another but i'm upgrading to the 955BE C3 so this ones going in our media tower.
- Cons: i didn't get the sticker.........
- Other Thoughts: This is sitting in a Asus M3N-HT HDMI/Deluxe 780a tri-sli mobo with 2 2gb sticks of OCZ Fatal1ty DDR2 800's, 2 evga 9800GTX+'s in physX set up, with a coolermaster V8 heatsink (Overkill for this cpu, it NEVER got hot with the stock heatsink, its for the 955 later). great cpu for moderate to low gaming IF you relieve the cpu of the physX calculations.....at least for my set up.
- Pros: Installed in new system and runs great as expected. Fine chip.
- Cons: None
Good upgrade
- Pros: Relatively inexpensive, works great out of the box. Easy installation.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: Got this as an upgrade to a Sempron processor that came with the store bought machine. If you have an aging AM2 only system and don't have dual-core capability this is a good route to go. Now have Win7 and 4GB of RAM to match. Not an overclocker, but definitely cut encoding and burning DVD time out of the box.

Highlights
 |
AMD64 Dual-core Technology AMD64 is designed to enable simultaneous 32 and 64-bit computing with no degradation in performance. With dual-core technology there are two complete processor cores in one physical package running at the same frequency to deliver TRUE multi-tasking power, allowing users to switch from one program to another without pausing for the computer to catch up and reducing annoying processing pauses.
|
 |
HyperTransport Technology HyperTransport Technology (HT or HTT) is a high-speed, low latency, point-to-point link designed to increase communication speeds between integrated circuits in computers, servers, embedded systems, and networking and telecommunications equipment. With HT technology the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200 Dual-core processor enjoys 2000MHz system bus speeds.
