1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None --- DOA.

Cons: This is the second OEM type processor received DOA. First one was diff P/N.

Other Thoughts: I think I'm going to stick with A/M boxed CPU's after this. It costs too much, even using Newegg shipping, to return these. Newegg did refund on my 1st DOA (different P/N) on second return which is great. Never had a problem with A/M boxed units -- worked first time every time.

5 out of 5 eggsUpgrade works !

Pros: I upgraded this chip from an AMD64 3800 with an Abit K9N mb. The dual core works well with the system. It's much faster on the tasks that my old processor was showing 100% CPU usage. So that's a plus. And the chip is stable.

Cons: It was necessary to get all my Windows XP events and errors fixed in software before I had a stable system. Prior to that, it would intermittently reboot, but it's very stable right now.

Other Thoughts: The money I spent on this should give me another year on this XP machine. So it was worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Cheap CPU

Pros: This CPU was for a DAW machine install that I was only using for mixdown. The chip never stressed out and I never encountered any lockups on the machine. I've run as many as 32 track with FX in sonar 8 and no wimping out.

Cons: Can't see any for the price and what it is.

Other Thoughts: This chip is being replaced with a Phenom II 1055t only out of want. I don't think the CPU "needs" upgrading but my studio is getting a big overhaul and I thout it would be nice to have more horsepower (and cores) on my mixdown machine. I'll probably use this chip in another computer I have in my house.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Good price for the features

Cons: DOA. Had several tech savvy friends look at it to see if I missed something. Swapped old cpu back into mobo and it worked fine.

Other Thoughts: RMA'd. Hoping the next one works.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor for a Great Price

Pros: Newly installed on a build for my GF. - She loves her computer, upgrading from a VIAO that had XP, pre- SP1, installed.

I bought this with a BIOSTAR TA790GXB as a combo and had no hiccups during set up. I used to go AMD all the way until Intel's Wolfdale 8400@ 3.0GHz. **However, this reminds me of how AMD dominates PRICE+PERFORMANCE in comparison to Intel. The performance is above the use that she will put it through so I can be relieved of having to build another PC for at least 3-4 years.

Cons: No eggs removed..this is my fault for the quick buy but I didn't read that this was OEM ^_^

I doesn't come with a fan. If you're just building a computer to use for everyday uses, just get a cheap $19 coolermaster universal heatsink/fan during check out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat processor for my grandson

Pros: Works great and no problems of any kind. Grandson is able to run just about any game at full. Very Happy

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Newegg is the best computer company I have ever worked with and that is why I pay the state tax because they are worth it. Got all parts in two days and everything worked. Thanks newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great!

Pros: Purchased this because I have a couple spare heatsinks from previous clients' builds. 65 watts is pretty good for this, and the processor powers through everything I throw at it.

Cons: No heatsink included; newer models are a bit more of a value for the performance.

Other Thoughts: Don't hesitate if this is powerful enough for your usage. Oh, and ignore the previous fanboy's rant. This is a great processor, just as Intel usually makes great processors. I generally use AMD because I'm currently doing budget-priced builds. If a client told me to build him the best I could and money was no object, I'd build him one of the current Intel systems. Unfortuately, money is an object right now, and AMD's current value can't be beat. This is my 11th AMD processor this quarter, and I have had no processor failures in more than 6 years of building computers. Keep up the amazing quality control, AMD and Intel!

5 out of 5 eggsAMD > Intel

Pros: I just posted this to upset intel lovers ... AMD is not the king of processors right now but wait till 1st quarter 09. :) FX comin back baby!! That 1,550 dollar processor you baught... yeah... Paperweight....

Cons: Never...

Other Thoughts: AMD owns intel - ATI was a huge succes it just took a while to organize things. *GASP* Batman - AMD has an integrated graphics that blows us away!
