Its not bad at all
- Pros: Its very fast
- Cons: it can run very hot. Stock cooling isn't enough or its extremely loud
- Other Thoughts: I recently sold mine on a *user auction site* to upgrade to get money for my new phenom 955. If you're looking for a fast processor with a low price, this is it. I have had it for more than a year and I strongly recommend it.
- Pros: Great speed for a decent price. Shows the Windows XP boot screen for about 3 seconds, and goes on to the login screen. Opens Photoshop CS4 in about 4 seconds. It's also pretty quiet, and I keep the case open.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: Huge upgrade from a 2.0GHz dual-core CPU.
AMD
- Pros: *Fast processor
*Now its cheap *5.7 Rating under Vista Ultimate *Crysis, FarCry2, H.A.W.X, Terminator Salvation all run smooth with my 260GTX, no need to get an i7 or Core2Quad or Phenom
- Cons: *overclocked 6000+
*it tends to run a little hot, its a 125w processor *even though its a black edition(unlocked) you cant overclock that much *Not all AM2 boards support this cpu
- Other Thoughts: When I got this cpu it was a little expensive, I thought it was going to be the last of the Athlon series and the black edition meant overclocking. I was excited! It sucks that you cant overclock the CPU unless you have really good liquid cooling and still only few have managed to go passed 3.2ghz to 3.6ghz or more. For those on a tight budget and want a budget gaming rig that can run all games with good resolutions with max settings , get this processor, an AM2+ motherboard (be sure it supports 125w chips, some out there only go to 95w), 3 gigs of ram and a Geforce 260GTX core 216 or its ATI equivalent.
