Response to Tony
- Pros: This chip is fast...don't let all the intel fanboys fool you. As for you Tony...you switched from this to the Q6600? That's kind of funny because this "just came out". The Q6600 has been out for a while now. In reality, you don't own this processor, and never have.
- Cons: Idiots that speak without knowing. Like Mr. Tony.
- Other Thoughts: To Tony's comment "If you want just a net surfing chip then this will do you just fine." Well dang..if you want just a "net surfing chip" a good ol 386/486 will do as well. Why in the world would you need a quad-core to surf the web????
If it had been available 2 month ago
- Pros: Monolithic design, price, TLB bug fixed in silicon. Best price/performance ratio within AMDs line up.
- Cons: limited overclocking potential; uses more power than Q6600, and Q9300. Slightly slower clock for clock when compared to intels offerings.
- Other Thoughts: If your not going to overclock then there is nothing wrong with this chip. It isnt much slower clock for clock than the Q9300, about 15% overall. But being priced at $215 it doesnt have to be. Solid performance for very little money, its the way to go if your a gamer on a budget.

Nice CPU
- Pros: Been using this CPU for 2 days now and haven't had one complaint. Haven't OCed it yet, so I don't have any review of that.
- Cons: None.
Works just fine in my AM2 board
- Pros: This works great in my Asus M2A-MVP motherboard (Socket AM2).
- Cons: AMD is now owned by the United Arab Emirates.
- Other Thoughts: I mistakenly bought a Socket AM2 Dual-Core processor, then upon further investigation I regretted the purchase: I realized my motherboard would support a Socket AM2+ CPU. I bought this one, and it seems to work great.
4core on the cheep
- Pros: It's great for the multi-tasker on a budget, or budget gamers whose games support more then 2 cores
- Cons: For apps and games that only support 2 or 1 core(s) It's slower then my old 5000+ (2.6ghz) that it replaced. The included cpu fan is crazy loud. I would guess 2-4x louder then the stock fan on the old 5000+
- Other Thoughts: The very high watt rating is a major problem with many budget AM2 boards. If you care at all about how much noise your system puts out you'll need an aftermarket heatsink/fan
