5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: This cpu was purchased for my new Emachines eMD5620-5777 as an upgrade from the new 1.6 single core 2650e. Difference of night and day. Boot time improved, Web pages open fast, all applications and to top it off low thermals on the heatsink, running right now after being on all night at 50c.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Bought for laptop so did'nt need the fan. Great price and fast Newegg service. AWESOME

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: Very good value. Vista rates it a 5.0 out of 5.9. Dual core with super low power consumption.

Cons: Not extremely fast. Not nearly as powerful as an equivalent 2.5ghz Intel (but costs 2x less)

Other Thoughts: Works very well in a low/med gaming machine

ASUS M2A-VM

5 out of 5 eggsSpiffy little processor

Pros: Just dropped this into a new board and it's up and running. Very cool, Very fast. Someone mentioned in another comment that they weren't seeing much of a savings in terms of energy, remember to enable the Cool & Quiet settings in the bios.

Cons: No heat sink or fan with included with this unit... easy to miss that when ordering.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should rethink how they currently package oem cpu's... this one came in a box with the stick of ram that I ordered but it wasn't entirely covered in bubble wrap.. it was jammed against the edge in it's little shell plastic container.

No Biggie but there has to be a better way.

5 out of 5 eggswake up everyone

Pros: this is awesome cpu hands down lets be honest it's NOT a core 2 duo but its avery good and power eficient cpu

Cons: i wish people here would research the motherboard compatibility before they buy cpu's so there would be no rewiews saying "it came up unknown in task manager but it shows 2 cores "
IF IT SAYS UNKNOWN CPU IT MEANS UPDATE BIOS TO THE NEWEST VERSION AND HOPE IT SUPPORTS BECAUSE IF THE MB DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THIS CPU THEN SURE AS DAYLIGHT THE WINDOWS BELIVES IT AND POSTS UNKNOWN"

Other Thoughts: IF MB CANNOT RECOGNIZE THE CPU THE YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT USING IT TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL (SURE IT MIGHT BE FASER THAN WHAT YOU HAVE HAD BEFORE )
BUT INSTALL IT IN COMPATIBLE MB AND SEE THIS CHIP FLY LIKE NO OTHER

PLEASE RESEARCH MB CPU COMPATIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN SAKE AND AMD'S TO

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Works great in a basic machine. OC'd at 2.8 and can go to 2.9 easy but backed off for assured stability. Even overclocked, it runs very cool. Installed with XP Pro on the Biostar TA780G m2+ with 4 gb Corsair DDR2 (XP sees 3gb) and Asus EN8400GS video card at 512 mb. It is a very efficient, quiet cool and inexpensive workstation. This is a really good processor for the $.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggspower saver

Pros: Faster and uses less power than what I had.

Cons: All info says AMD Processor model unknown, but the model number checks out and task manager and device manager show 2 cores.

Other Thoughts: upgraded from AMD X2 2.3GHz 65watt, which is now an upgrade for another machine.
