AMD is Back!
- Pros: 45nm, overclocks great, makes AMD respectable again.
- Cons: Read Below.
- Other Thoughts: Everyone keeps trying to compare these AM2+ chip benchmark's to the i7's. That is not fair at all, you have to remember that these first batches of PII's are running on dual channel DDR2 memory, whereas most benchmarks have the i7's running on triple channel DDR3 memory. Even being behind them, these chips still produce very respectable numbers, especially when OC'd. This is AMD getting back on track.
Writing review to actually review a product unlike some.
- Pros: New AMD process with great overclocking potential. starts at 3 Ghz, but doesn't end there. Cheapest performance out there for a tight budget (depends on needs).
- Cons: The price is fair for the performance. Other sites have higher prices then Newegg since it is NEW.
- Other Thoughts: Most of the reviews on newegg are pretty useless. Why does one write a review telling others to go buy another product, but does not give a good reason to do so. Ok it performs a little slower, but also cost a lot less. So who wins? Consumers...

Works great
- Pros: Stays cool with fan/hs from AMD (30 on idle 41 is the highest temp I have seen yet). Gets a rating of 7.1 on windows 7 ultimate x64.
- Cons: its not a 3.4.
- Other Thoughts: Great price. People should not complain about heat when they are trying to OC to 3.4 and 3.8... There is a reason it goes the speed that you buy it at, If you are trying to push the limits dont complain when you burn it up.
Do I need quad core?
- Pros: Fast for the money
- Cons: I have come to realize that almost nothing I do requires anything more than a dual core. I should have bought a dual core and overclocked it.
Awesome
- Pros: This is one of the best CPUs around. I bought the black edition just in case I needed to overclock, but found out it works flawlessly and I haven't overclocked. It is still running at the stock 3.0GHz.
- Cons: None whatsoever.
- Other Thoughts: This is an excellent CPU for me because I do quite a bit of video production and this chip handles it like a pro.
