Cons: lost about a gigs and a half of memory...dont know why but all my ram is 100% fine.

4 out of 5 eggswait and go to am2 if ur running a 939

Pros: well it has 1 mb of L2 cache and is about the cheapest upgrade on the 939 u can get right now

Cons: not very big difference from the 3500 amd athlon 64 and runs a lil warm

Other Thoughts: would wait and upgrade to am2 if ur running nething higher than a 3500 for the price am2s u can buy a much faster processor for a lower price

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have replaced procssor in my Hp m7330n from a Amd Athlon 64X2 4200+ to a Amd Athlon 64 4000+ the reason for that is some games will not run properly on a dual core. I have two games Hunting unlimited and call of duty Hunt. un. when lunched the cenery is chopy. call of duty. when playing the game came up with script errors some times it will not complete the script it will hang up. So I am ustng a single core procssor. I have no more problem's

Cons: non so far.

Other Thoughts: that would be nice if they would make it in a 3.0 Ghz to run a little faster.

4 out of 5 eggsGood CPU for s939

Pros: Good CPU in it's day. I bought in Sep of '05. Ran great. When faster speed was needed I OC'ed to 2.7ghz - x12 225 @ 1.65vcore (watercooling). I was also able to run the CPU up to 1.675vcore without blowing it up :-)

Cons: Single core. Dated for gaming. I would recommend getting an Opteron CPU for s939 if you need a 939 processor

Other Thoughts: If I had known better when I bought it I would have gone with the 170-175 opteron. Seeing as I spent $500 on it in '05 that would have increased the usefulness of that computer for gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsLost some DDR after replaced new 4000+

Pros: Before placed ordered with newegg, checked my O PC mother board with MSI & HP, said: okay to upgrade from old 3400 to 4000+ new CPU. It was worth to pay 68.98 that included rush process. Luckily received within 4 business days, except 1st day ordered on night & Sat Sunday. In the past I had 3 times that my orders arrived to near by warehouse, then found unreasonable to return back to Newegg.
Before replacement I had checked the system info from O PC. Releases the clips of fan heatsink, vacuum dusts, picked up the metal post on board to release the O cpu. Better wear a thin glove to plug it into socket if grounding strip was not available. Note: triangle mark to triangle mark. Then applied some heat sink silicone compound on top of 4000+. Reinstalled the fan heatsink.
During power on need check this fan must rotate, otherwise damaged cpu.
Click icon to other icon, little faster obviously during change screen.

Cons: But found system info: total 1gb ddr, but lost 256 kb.
So that spent 50.00 to buy 1gb ddr.
Total 2gb already plugged
into 4 dimm sockets, but only showed 1536 MB from system info, 512 kb lost. Checked from F1 two dimm blacked, I need switched ddr between the 4 dimm, then got the max 1536KB. I dont know why.

Other Thoughts: To day Jan11-2008 found out this cpu price down to xx from newegg, only model name different
such as supply voltage 1.5v, chip its construction little bigger, same L1, L2 buffer memory same watt & master clock freq. But price 16.00 cheaper. Buy later more cheaper.
