5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor

Pros: This Processor has been running great since 2006 when I first got it in my HP, now with the recent upgrade to 4GB of DDR 400 MHZ ram and my 9800gtx+ with a 500w power supply this computer can still run all the new end games and almost capped. Upgraded to windows 7 never overclocked it but if i did I would probably be able to push a lot more out of it. 10 stars for AMD. This computer and processor will probably last me a few more years in gaming and then just be a work/research/video computer :).

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: I still got this computer running good but why keep an old hp running and able to run new end games because It was my first computer, ill have this still running way past its obsolete age :), but my new computer is an eight core with 16gb ram and 6950 so don't worry staying with the new age but got to keep the old ones around, haha I even have computer still with windows 98 and 2000 but that purpose is for the different architectures and I always loved windows 98.

5 out of 5 eggsMy baby walks by now

Pros: Followup really as I figured time to post a review. Chip handled everything I've thrown at it for 6 years on a ASUS A8N-Sli premium without a hiccup.

Cons: what cons? still runs and will still run for a few more years as a subsystem

Other Thoughts: I don't build often as I use a system to it's fullest, not just to throw it in to run benchmarks and deem it not useful to move onto the next thing. 2ghz is 2ghz and works for what it needs to do.

5 out of 5 eggsWow...

Pros: Dual Core. Price(Now). Socket 939. Stock Heatsink. 3 Year Warrantee. Runs cool.

The best part of this processor was its overclocking ability. I put it in the socket and turned on the PC and booted into the bios. Changed the FSB frequency to 250 and lowered the HT multiplier to 4x and BAM i had a 2.5 Ghz processor. No voltage increase necessary (I do have PC 4000 RAM though...) That was with a DFI Ultra-D and DFI SLI-DR with OCZ Platinum XTC RAM. Awesome... thats all I can say. Did I say that the temps didn't increase with the overclock? (I tested the CPU at both speeds and no temperature increase) It stayed at 38C with a load and 30C idle, and thats before the Artic Silver had been broken in. It doesn't go above 35C anymore in a hot attic with the stock cooler!

Cons: Out of stock at the moment...

Other Thoughts: Man, this baby is awesome. Don't expect to see a boost in stystem speed, but expect a giant leap in multi-tasking ability. I can run two CPU intensive applications (Such as rendering a DVD and playing Far Cry) at the same time! Be sure to have plenty of RAM to do this.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for the buck

Pros: Its can take anything i throw at it and pass it with flying colors.

Cons: stock cooler. I am over clocking so i ditched it as soon as i got it. but other then that. flawless!

Other Thoughts: Much better buy to have this one then the 4000 or 4200. There is not much of a differnce. Would highly recomend this to anyone. Newegg as always, u guys rock!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU for the money

Pros: Very fast CPU for the money, can be overclocked very high, low latency DDR1 400 memory

Cons: E4 stepping, early; high power consumption; inferiority to core 2 duos above 2GHz

Other Thoughts: I have this in a micro case with a 220w PSU. It is very fast but soaks a lot of juice. I run two FAH instances with ease. Later steppings, I hear, especially 65nm ones, are cool running.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great with my Socket 939 motherboard. Dropped it right in and it worked no problem first time.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was hoping not to have to upgrade to the new AM2. The only problem is Socket 939 is that they are hard to find.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great processor, have it running stable at 2.65ghz.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: With the stock fan, this was running about 44c/53c full load. I replaced the fan with a Zalman 9700 and now running 35c/44c full load at 2.65ghz.

4 out of 5 eggsStill loving

Pros: Ive had this CPU for a year and a half. I bought it with a MOBO combo that saved me $30 back then on the chip. Still runs great. And haven't found any reasons to OC it. I plan to stay with it for at least another year. good stuff.

Cons: Wasn't being recognized as a dual core processor when installed. Had to install drivers for it to work fully. But that could have been my XP service pack.
