Throw another day’s work on the "done" pile. The Athlon II X3 435 makes it easy. With triple 2.9GHz cores that have their own 512KB cache, you have the power to do anything you like. HyperTransport technology boosts system performance by giving each core a dedicated cache of memory and reducing I/O bottlenecks by increasing bandwidth and reducing latency.

The 64-bit design will keep you going well into the future. The AMD64 technology is compatible with existing software and enables a seamless transition to the 64-bit applications of the future. This technology allows end users to take advantage of real-time encryption, more life-like games, accurate speech interfaces, cinema-quality graphic effects, and easy-to-use video and audio editing.

If you're going to use this processor at home, it can be the basis of a media center with AMD Live! technology. This new feature from AMD will turn your PC into an entertainment platform second to none. Watch videos or TV in one room while streaming music into another. Your system will become a true media center with music, movies, and photos all organized and able to be shared amongst all of your connected equipment.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Unlocked on first try to 4 cores and it's been running strong for over 5 years now.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Never overclocked it, or even tried. Exceeds it's requirements for the machine it is in

4 out of 5 eggspretty good

Pros: its a tri-core CPU so gaming isnt too much of a hassle when using a 3 core cpu.
it runs at 2.9Ghz clock speed so its pretty decent.
its a good enough cpu to run most games when paired with a decent card. although this is not strictly a gaming cpu.

Cons: 512KBx3 L2 cache. no L3 cache for cpu memory.
its tri core and 95 watts which is a bit high, it also runs a bit warm.

Other Thoughts: this cpu was included in my desktop system, being an acer x3400 series.

3 out of 5 eggsOverheating

Pros: Not very good at making comments but this processor seemed to work very well and I didnt really have to do anything to get the processor to open up to quad core.

Cons: The problem I am having is the processor is overheating. I have change out the stock heat sink and the processor is still over heating. If anyone has some idea's I would be greatfull. Also, I didnt install it myself but one of my computer friends did.

5 out of 5 eggsGood deal, works great

Pros: I unlocked the fourth core perfectly stable. No OC, unfortunately, because it isn't being used as a gaming computer and it's not necessary.

Cons: Unlocking turns off temp sensors? :)

Other Thoughts: Really good for budget builds. From what I understand, the X3's are almost always good unlocks.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: This is a excellent processor as an X3 , it runs about 34 idling with an AMD heatpipe cooler. After playing with for a month I decided to try unlocking it and Voila it is now a Phenom II X4 B35 , complete with 6 mb of L3 cache. Fantastic deal.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: It was time for a new PC and I have been reading about the new Phenom II's and Athlon II's. The cpu is a smoker before being unlocked and reall scorches unlocked.
