5 out of 5 eggsThis chip is a trooper

Pros: Solid clock speed and performance for it's day and age. Purchased it 5 years ago and it's still running strong with its stock cooler. Can handle all games from the past decade (and a lot of current high-end games, such as Skyrim) on high settings. It's awesome for what it is.

Cons: It's old and outdated now, but that's not really a flaw. There's just plenty of way better CPUs out there now.

Other Thoughts: It still holds out even today with no signs of real aging (other than the bottleneck that's rearing its head with contemporary games). Retiring this beast in the next few weeks and upgrading to an AM3+ mainboard with a Phenom II X4 955. I'm embracing the future (and looking forward to running games on ultra high settings again).

5 out of 5 eggsIts old and its still running!

Pros: Its been about 6 years since I built this computer, and its still running strong.

Cons: Its beginning to become outclassed by the newer Processors...

Other Thoughts: I can play games from GTA4 to World of Tanks on this chip, and its still able to do it well.

Either way, I'm going to be replacing this rig hopfully within the next week or so, I've done a great amount of homework on what is what and what is the best.

Its worth it when it lasts this long.(I never once overclocked it)

5 out of 5 eggsWEll done

Pros: Lasted since I built it in in 2007. 5 years, 2 overclocks to 2.9ghz, 2 mobos and 3 vid cards later...It really is an amazing piece of work, and tomorrow i replace it with a thuban 1100, as BF3 just wont allow it.

Cons: cant OC past 3.0ghz... and that's just fine.

Other Thoughts: best money I ever spent on a computer part.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, long-lasting processor.

Pros: Very fast, especially for its time.
It has lasted for 4 years of heavy gaming, with games like Battlefield 2, Portal, Command and Conquer, Call of Duty 4, and MUCH more.
STILL works, just as fast as it did when it was new.

Cons: I'm surprised it has lasted so long. This thing runs HOT.
Averages 50c idle, goes up to 70c when it's really busy.

Other Thoughts: I've never looked into overclocking it. It has out-lasted 2 graphics cards.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat chip

Pros: Real fast processor, everything is very responsive in Vista. I'm very please with it.

Cons: Stock fan/heatsink is well, stock. It gets the job done but definitely not for overclocking.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to try and OC it as far as it will go with a zalman 8700 fan/heatsink.

5 out of 5 eggsGood OC

Pros: Great processor, has lasted me more than a year now. Had a Phenom 9500 but there are problems with it, so I just threw this guy back in there. Let me tell you, its a pretty decent overclocker for AMD. So far I've got this guy to 3GHz without touching the voltage @ 28 Celcius

Cons: I will let you know when I find one.

Other Thoughts: Antec 900 case.
4GB Corsair 4-4-4-12.
XFX Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB.
Asus Crosshair Mobo.
ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme Heatsink /w 120mm Scythe fan.
antec 650watt trupower trio psu.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: There's a reason why this processor was nominated for a customer's choice award - there really isn't a better combination of price versus performance than with this processor.
Noticeable upgrade from a 6300 Core 2 Duo.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Cons: the stock fan was terrible it was so weak that during start up sometimes it would just give up and stop so i had the alarm go off at start up until i order a new fan and heatsink

Other Thoughts: great price and all but make sure u research a good fan and heatsink i recommend the zalman am2 about 50 bucks

5 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: Huge upgrade and super fast. the bang for the buck, you cant go wrong. high l2 cache and nice ghz before overclocking. if your not ready to pay for quad... this is a nice stepping stone to hold out for a year to go quad and still do massive gaming and movies

Cons: none so far... like i said for the price you cant complain.

Other Thoughts: hope amd keeps it up and does a ton of quads that drop in price

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: overclocked 239FSBx13 +.212 on voltage and I'm running nicely at 3106mhz. Idles between 28 and 31 Celcius using a Cooler Master Gemini2 with 2 120mm case fans.

Cons: not much of a con but maybe my motherboard is holding it back.

Other Thoughts: Biostar T7050, AMD X2 5200,2GB Crucial Ballistix ddr2-800, modified 10yr old case, no case fans as of yet.
