5 out of 5 eggsIf you can still find one, still a great buy

Pros: Cheap, fast, runs cool, low power consumption, still good even in 2015. I have not tried to overclock this and doubt I ever will.

Cons: Did not unlock to 3 or 4 core but is not marketed as such so no losing an egg.

Other Thoughts: I just upgraded my wife's computer that I have had this CPU in since 2010. Upgraded the RAM, the motherboard, put in a AMD Firepro W4100 because onboard video is evil and a SSD... but did not touch this CPU. Why would I? She doesn't game and even if she did a 3.4ghz dual core is still more than capable even today. I'm going to run this CPU as long as I can, maybe I'll get another 5 years out of it? Like I said she does not game so that just might happen...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It overclocked to 4GHz without even touching voltages. It has been rock solid all these years on air cooling.

Cons: From what I remember unlocking the cores failed, but it wasn't sold as a 3-4 core processor and I didn't buy it with that expectation.

Other Thoughts: I should try unlocking the cores again.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Processor

Pros: Excellent performance to price ratio
Unlocked to Phenom II X4 B55 (955)
Fast and reliable
Unlocked and ready to overclock

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this to try out the ACC functionality on my motherboard. I knew that I was buying a dual-core processor and anything else was pure gravy. It unlocked and performed better than I expected. That's not bad for nearly $90. Talk about getting the most for your money.

5 out of 5 eggsGaming in 2014 on it

Pros: Decent dual core cpu even in 2014.

Cons: Not a hard con but the unlocked cores were unstable on mine. Such is life of the silicon lottery.

Is not good for streaming on Twitch.

Other Thoughts: Has no problem with gaming in 2014. Even Heroes of the Storm runs great. Unfortunately it isn't a good cpu for streaming on Twitch. The stream is very choppy and fiddling with settings made no difference. Unlocking the cpu made my stream very smooth for about 10 minutes until my computer rebooted.

This is still a great cpu.

5 out of 5 eggsstill rocking games in 14

Pros: unlocked all 4 and running 3.6 with memory at 1600mhz for 3 years now......still can not get past a 80% load in ANY game...including metro last light......CM 212 cpu cooler never gets over 135f......it is still over min spec needed for even the most demanding game every made.....it and a 680 4gb get me over 60 frames a second at 1080p

Cons: NONE even as a dual core it is still a really good CPU

Other Thoughts: i have this on a M5A97 asus motherboard....even being almost 5 years old it still runs EVERY game....it will run even big cards like a gtx 680 4gb with out really bottle necking it as long as you over a 8 series motherboard.....

5 out of 5 eggsPhenom II X2 555

Pros: Fast like a diesel engine with turbo!
Get's everything done!
Owned for over 2 years with no problems!

Cons: Runs a little on the warmish end, but fixed with aftermarket CPU cooler!

Other Thoughts: This has been a roller-coaster ride of success with this CPU.
Even while encoding videos it still keeps on chugging and getting my work done!
This one unlocks just fine without issues, but 2 extra cores I did not need all the time with it so I defaulted it in BIOS back to 2 cores.
As with all AMD CPUs (In my experience) the better the airflow in your case the better the AMD system will run!
My system this is in does not have ideal airflow and I didn't need the extra cores, so I locked them. It's still a GREAT performing system without the extra cores! Gotta do what you gotta do. I'm a happy camper and love my AMD PC!

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best processors.

Pros: I've had this CPU for more than 4 years, and I have not had a single issue with it. It runs smooth, everything runs great. One of the best processors you could ask for.

Cons: Slight overheating, fixed that with a new heatsink though.
