5 out of 5 eggsExcellent processor

Pros: I've had this since 2010 and it has been stout since. Not one hiccup in 5 years, I am beyond impressed.

Cons: nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning and Handles Everything

Pros: I have had no issues.

I have lightly overclocked the Cores and will go further now that I have a liquid cooling system in place.

Any of the new games I played on it run smoothly. Sometimes I cannot run max quality, but that is a video card issue and not a CPU issue.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Would probably do a 3rd AMD build as it is great performance for the cost. Couldn't be happier.

5 out of 5 eggsJust A Champ

Pros: Bang for the buck indeed. When I purchased this chip, I didn't have the extra funds to buy an aftermarket cooler, as previously noted here, this sucker runs hot on stock cooling even at stock clocks. Regardless, I haven't noticed (forgot in fact) until recently when I upgraded my video card to a GTX 970, and tried to find the bottleneck. Yep, I've been running it on the stock cooler at stock speeds all these years and it's been ahead of my video cards. Time to buy an aftermarket cooler and push up the clock on this beauty. Looking forward to Star Wars Battlefront and Fallout 4 on it! I'm going to get at least five years total of high performance out of this chip, more likely 7 or 8, all for under 2 bones. Four years later, and still very, very pleased with this purchase.

Cons: Really none, some say the stock cooler, but it functions perfectly at stock speeds for years playing the most demanding games. What do you really want?

5 out of 5 eggsA real workhorse

Pros: I bought this in June 2011 and used it until May 2013.
This CPU is a classic - good value for great performance. This was my first unlocked full-power desktop processor, and I will always remember it fondly.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This would not be a good buy today, but it was the bees leg joints 4 years ago.

5 out of 5 eggsStill cranking it out.

Pros: This thing still runs like a champ after 3 years and water cooled. Amd keeps coming out with new stuff and even though newer benchmarks seem impressive, the devs aren't making things harder on cpu's for gaming.
There's still a ton of life left in the chip. It's been steadily pegged at 4.0 overclocked since it went into the pc.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsBang for your Buck

Pros: Just a good processor.

Cons: This is a well known so I won't dock an egg - but the stock cooling equipment is junk. This thing just runs hot.

Other Thoughts: Going on 5 years with this fella and it's still performing well. I'm only just now starting to hit bottlenecks on games. Got it paired with a GTX 970 SSC, 16 gigs of fairly fast DDR3, a well designed case, and an aftermarket cooler. Kicking around the idea of swapping on the proc and mobo for an Intel variant, but honestly...this thing does the job still so...maybe I'll just sit tight?

5 out of 5 eggsReliable

Pros: Going on 4 years, no issues. Still running strong and rarely ever maxes out, even while streaming video games and video editing.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsLove My Phenom!

Pros: I have had this since fall of 2011 and it's still running like a champ. Though I haven't overclocked it until today, I finally took the plunge after I added a cooler master hyper 212 evo. I'm quite happy to report it overclocked easily and with the new cooler it's running at 45 c while running prime 95. I'm being a little timid currently and only pushing it to 3.5 Ghz with the air cooling, but it seems to be running great! Glad I bought the black edition. :) Hurray for AMD!

Cons: I wish I could have a guarantee that the next processor I buy will be as awesome as this one.

Other Thoughts: Sorry for those who didn't buy this chip when it was available, especially sine it was so affordable in comparison to other cpu's of the day.
