5 out of 5 eggsschwing

Pros: AMD!! 6 cores of f
OC right off the bat to 3.5 no hickup
no shripy cooler when you use the poormans closed loop water cooling.

Cons: a 13x multiplier

Other Thoughts: mostly used for multimedia rendering and such a x4 core would work exquisitely for gaming as well. don't really use the 2 extra cores for games.
right off the bat I bumped the bus speed to 270 mhz and put multiplier at 13 (using stock air cooler from other Pii 1090T)
and make'd sure the voltage was at 1.38 for the cpu. It could be toned down to prob 1.36 but given the clock speed this is guaranteed to work. Remember any Pii you don't want to go over 1.55v, honestly 1.47v if you care for the life of your chip.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome 6-core AMD

Pros: Low power!
6 cores!
Got it for $125 on promo!
No pathetic stock heatsink!
This is a beast for most games!
Phenom architecture

Cons: Doesn't keep up with Intel.

Other Thoughts: I built a gaming rig for my 11-yr-old son around this chip. He always beats his buddies loading up maps. I used 2 of the good old Samsung F3 1 TB mechanical hard drives in RAID 0 and short-stroked the first partition to about 10% (~200 GB) of the RAID for installing most of the games and apps. The rest of it I partitioned to 10%, 30%, and 50% for whatever else. I expect that one day, he may find it inadequate and want an upgrade. That's when I repurpose it into a HTPC. A HTPC with a low-power (95W) 6-core processor will do anything you ask of it. If this one keeps going strong for too long I may have to break down and get the 1045T Thuban or FX-6100 Zambezi for the HTPC.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: This thing is amazing. I almost never use any more then 75% of total Processing power, even when running win 7 ultimate and 6 or 7 virtual operating systems as well.

Cons: its clocked at 2.8Ghz?

Other Thoughts: bought it on accident, meant to get 1055T but i overclocked this to 2.9Ghz and it runs fine.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good processing power for the money. Actually I don't need a CPU that fast. My son does - for his games. The cores default at 800MHz and then go up speed according to load automatically. Runs cool. Brief OC to 240MHz bus speed gives a 20% increase of power, stable without raising CPU voltage.

Cons: OEM - no heat sink included (I know).

Other Thoughts: The packaging does not convince me that this is a new unit. The CPU sits on a piece of pink color foam inside a small soft plastic box that was NOT factory sealed. It has 2 pieces of scotch tapes to hold the box shut so the CPU will not fall out of the box. I purchased OEM AMD CPU before and it wasn't like this - the package was sealed with AMD paper inside. You have to use a cutter to cut the package open. This packaging from Newegg really makes me wonder. I have also bought used CPU from online auction and the seller packed it better than this one from newegg. I shed one egg off because I am not convinced this is a new CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat 6 core processor!

Pros: Great chip, i was able to auto-overclock it to 3.3 ghz, on air cooling, with a $20 heatsink, and no voltage increase. I bet i could push this thing to 3.6 or even 4.0 if i did that.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: the packaging is small, with the front end of the chip toward the outside plastic packaging (but not directly touching it), with the bottom surrounded by a small foam material. It looks fragile, but i suppose its sturdy enough. No damage to chip whatsoever, but i figure i better throw that out there.

5 out of 5 eggsI am pleased.

Pros: Well......I overclocked this fellow to 3.5 ghz, on an ASUS board. M5A97 board

Very cool, much cooler than my 965 BE.
Scores much higher in Cinebench 11.5, lower power.

Cons: Didn't come with a hot lady friend.......

Other Thoughts: Awesome for video encoding, and general gaming. I really have no qualms with this CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for SMP

Pros: Processor is used for SMP for folding at home. Gets about 10K PPD depending on the work unit. Stays about 47C on a test bench when its about 36C in the room under full load with some cheap generic cooler. Video encoding I didn't notice a difference between this and my 1090T, but then again I wasn't really paying attention.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I did not overclock this processor because the board that it is a little iffy. So I guess that is a con on my part. Also please remember that this is an OEM processor and that it will not come with a heat sink.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap 6 cores.
OEM = no stock heatsink fan.
Fast shipping. No bent pin!

Cons: Temperature reading error!!!
It shows 9°C idle/ 36°C full load on both of my motherboards updated to the latest BIOS with default settings using either HWMonitor or CoreTemp!
The temperature readings are correct in the BIOS though. (Idle 30°C in BIOS. Cannot stress test in BIOS.)
I set my cpu fan to start spinning faster at 50°C and it does, but it just won't show the correct readings in the OS (Win 7 64bit).
I estimate the actually temperatures should be 29°C/56°C (idle/loaded) because that's where my Phenom II x4 955 hits.

Other Thoughts: I just got the chip. If the temperature reading error is the only flaw I might not send it back. It is not that big of a deal, I just add 20°C in my head. I still got 27 days to test its full functionalities though.
Currently running 3.25 GHz (250*13) @ 1.375v

5 out of 5 eggsNo better Value

Pros: - I have mine overclocked at 4.0 GHz rock stable at 1.475v
- Save a little bit over 1055T without stock cooler
- 6 Core higher Core performance than FX series
- Mine came completely unlocked. I have mine at 20x 200MHz for multiplier. Seems odd as this is supposed to be a locked chip.

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: Lucked out with the unlocked multi!
