5 out of 5 eggsAwesome processor.

Pros: Bought this processor a few years ago to replace my stock AMD Athlon II 170u processor in my Compaq Presario CQ5600Y desktop. There was some question as to whether or not this AMD socket would work with this processor. No bios updates were needed, it plugged in and came to life. No one could tell me for sure or not. I even contacted HP. They didn't seem to know. If you are thinking of an upgrade for this computer, and are not a high demand gamer, you would be amazed at how fast and effortless your computer would speed through tasks. It improved this computer above and beyond what I had hoped for. I put in a better power supply also. (250watt) and upgraded the video card. With this upgrade I don't see any reason for a new computer anytime soon. I have Windows 7 in this machine. It's compatible,it's easy to install, and it performs.

Cons: I can't think of any problems or negatives about this processor.

Other Thoughts: Anyone looking to upgrade this inexpensive computer, rather that buying something new, would be pleased with the performance that is possible with this processor. You will think you have a new computer. I don't know if you really have to beef up the power supply...but I did anyway.

3 out of 5 eggsAwesome price good for games but newer games needed upgrade

Pros: Price.
Even with 3 cores I been able to play most games without a problem. Had to upgrade for Fallout 4 and maybe any newer games coming out but worked great with Skyrim and games that are only a few years old.

Cons: A little outdated now... New games you might need to upgrade to at least 4 cores. Or soon maybe even 6 cores to run properly.

Other Thoughts: I loved this processor for the last 2 years.... Upgrading now to something newer. Never let me down.

5 out of 5 eggsGoing strong for over a year!

Pros: Bought this February 2013 for a mild gaming computer (Big Fish, Pop Cap, World of Warcraft) for my mother-in-law. It is absolutely perfect in every way for what we needed it for.

Cons: Absolutely none

Other Thoughts: I will continue to support AMD, someone has to, if it weren't for fanboys of the other processors, AMD would probably be further along. Back in the late 80's, AMD made processors FOR Intel because they couldn't get it together and produce enough chips for demand.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for simple builds

Pros: Cheap at the time for a decent CPU. I only use this with a simple home theatre build. Wanted something kind of mid level as this was at the time and AMD of course is always cheaper.

Cons: Only worthwhile for a very simple build. Pretty power hungry CPU as are most AMDs.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat processor

Pros: Great processor, i bought it with ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX AM3+ AMD 760G motherboard, and G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600, in 2012! I use my computer a lot, gaming and movies everyday mostly, and it works very well, handling everything like a champ, a cheap champ.

Cons: none! getting a six core in about six months, excited! i will keepthis put away, as a backup. i have no problem using this processor whatsoever. stock heatsink is fine!

Other Thoughts: my build as described with a EVGA GTX 560(non ti), and SeaSonic M12II 520 is going to last a LONG time, at quite high overall quality. I play Crysis 3 on max settings and 70+ fps at 720p quality. It's cheap, and it works.
